I have stayed in the Nazionale twice, and in both cases it was a long time ago, so be forewarned, much changes. But much does not. The first time I was here with my kids. We pulled into Portofino without a reservation in the summer, and amazingly the Splendido had rooms. I'm used to Relais and Chateaux and Leading Hotels... more

Albergo Nationale is located on the one square facing the small scenic yacht harbor. The hotel is very small, comfortable and serves a good breakfast. There is no through traffic. Buildings have been renovated to acommodate small restaurants, art galleries and shops. The Galleria d'Arte Portofinio Art on the square has a selection of contemporary art along with traditional views... more
