We visited to celabrate my husbands 60th birthday and everything was wonderful. the hotel staff are fabulous and do take advantage of their knowledge about restaurants-the one meal that we had without their recommendation was the worst! tea, cocktails etc in the garden all perfect. We had room 11-very pretty overlooking the canal. more

If I start with the superlatives, I am at risk of being unable to control myself. This was my third trip to Venice (takiing my sister as a special treat). I booked Palazzo Abadessa on the basis of other reviews on this sight, and I am so glad that I did. Still, I was prepared to wear the "Been There,... more

A fantastic hotel, warm welcome and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast in the garden was delicious and tranquil. Lit up with fairy lights at night. A few (quiet) minutes walk away from a busy street with lovely shops, restaurants etc. Near to water bus stops. Would highly recommend it. Canal works still going on but not really invasive. more

The hotel was wonderful. It was quiet, everything was clean, and the rooms were beautiful. It was like staying in a museum. Service is great. The owner is a wonderful woman who was there every morning at breakfast. The breakfast was also good, far better than the other places we stayed. Beware the water taxis from the train station though.... more

It was the begining of our honeymoon and what a start. We were welcomed at the reception with a smile and a proseco. The entrance was throgh a fabulous garden which is uncommon in Venice. The room was splendid, huge and full of antique furniture. Knowing that we were honeymooners we found beautiful orchids in the room. The second day... more

Everyone likes the Abadessa and with very good reason. It's a beautiful small palazzo with enormously pleasant and helpful staff, and excellent value for Venice. Our room was a very large double (no 16) overlooking the garden, which I think is much the best side of the hotel to be. We liked the location because it's not too touristy, you... more

Stayed 3 nights from August 22nd. Compare to the price and quality to other hotels in Venice, we are very satisfied with Palazzo Abadessa. Very Venetian, great staff, wonderful breakfast, close to all major attraction but quiet area, great location. If you are looking for full service 5 star hotel with 500Euro a night, this is not for you. If... more

Stayed here for three nights and had an excellent time. Room was very nice and staff very friendly. Breakfast was very nice particularly in the garden with perfect weather for our visit. We liked the location which was a bit off from the heavy crowds but only about 20 minute walk to about anywhere. The only downside was the construction... more

My husband and I stayed at the Palazzo Abadessa for three nights from August 19-22 and had a fabulous experience. We truly found the hotel to be an oasis away from the tourist crowded streets of Venice. We had a terrible flight experience on our way into Venice which included delays, re-routing and lost luggage. Upon arrival Darwin welcomed us... more

Two days were added to our trip when Delta called to say we could fly direct if we left on the 5th instead of the 7th. No problem, but when our hotel in Venice couldn't extend our reservation we looked around for another. Can't remember how we found Palazzo Abadessa - especially since it's in the Cannaregio and we, like... more
