My husband and I were there just a couple of months ago and had to change hotels because the one we booked online turned out to be terrible. So we walked around one morning and we stumbled upon a 3 star hotel, City Hotel - http://www.hotelcity.net/index.php and it was wonderful! We totally recommend to anyone that wants to stay somewhere... more

Very centrally situated in a little side street not far from the railway station. A delightful hotel which we would highly recommend. Immaculately clean throughout and room had everything you could need, including a fridge and air conditioning. Very comfortable bed. Windows had mosquito netting and double frames to eliminate any noise. Lovely breakfast and very friendly and efficient staff.... more

We were just looking for a good location, but found much more. The hotel was an easy walk from the airport shuttle or train station, with equally good access to the museums and the duomo. It looked tiny from the outside, but inside was surprisingly spacious, with colorful murals and a very pleasant breakfast room. The breakfast included warmed pastries... more

We were so very pleased when we walked into this charming hotel! We had booked for the incredibly good location, the air conditioning and the private bathroom, in spite of the humble-sounding name. It was so much lovelier than we had expected! The entryway and sitting rooms are so pleasant, and one is taken by the lovely painted details in... more

Very noisy. It was hot at night and the hotel staff refused to turn on the airconditioning.Six of us spent a sleepless night. Not at all worth the price you pay. The hotel staff was rude and unfriendly. more

We were staying in Rome and decided to do a day trip to Florence that turned into an overnight. We went without any reservations, but checked out our guidebook recommendations and tripadvisor reviews. We decided to try the Hotel City because it looked nice, had good reviews, and was close to the train station. When we checked in, we negotiated... more

I was a little disappointed with this hotel; I had higher expectations after seeing the website. The room we had was okay and was clean. However, there was a vent pipe in the bathroom above the shower which led directly outside. We were kept awake during the night by street noises that came in through the pipe! However, on the... more

The hotel is only 5 min from the train station and within 10 min from the Duomo. The staff is OK, helpful but I don't necessarily find them that friendly. Breakfast is on the weak side - the boiled eggs were cold and the pastries didn't look that good either. However, the room is spacious and clean. more

A very nice, clean, safe hotel on a "desirable" side road within walking distance of the central station. Duomo and Baptistery near walking distance, but far enough to avoid endless parade of crowds. The street noise has been abated via the use of new windows. A/C is available as a bonus. The front desk is handled admirably by the ultra... more

A very nice hotel. It was extraordinarily quite, with an air conditioning system that was the quietest I have ever run into. Bathroom was a little tight, but quite serviceable. Not in the very heart of the city but less than a 10 minute walk to the Domo. Very convienent if you are coming into or leaving Florence by train!... more
