My wife and I agree that this was the best hotel experience we have had. We stayed for our honeymoon and were treated very kindly by a helpful friendly staff who were glad to upgrade us because it was our honeymoon. The lobby has lovely furniture; the room looked better than the photos ... with frescoed walls, two bathrooms, dark... more

The rooms in this old palazzo are beaten and worn. The furniture looks like it was purchased at a bad garage sale. Plus, it's too expensive. Maybe that's why the hotel is suffering through a disasterous, horrible year. The real saving grace about the place is the man who operates and owns the bar concession. His name is Emilio and... more

Was booked here through a tour group. Don't blame them - the location is incredible, and this seems like a lovely old hotel in the very heart of Florence. Very midieval-type experience. However, they seem to constantly have air conditioning problems, and we unfortunately experienced that - no a/c at all for 3 days of pure hell while we slept... more

We stayed at this hotel in June of 2008 as part of a tour booked through Monograms (Globus). The hotel was part of the 'premium' package. The lobby area of the hotel was very nice, a nice welcome to Florence. Also, they have an amazing roof bar. I read another review about the bar being closed....chance are the barman was... more

Woke up with bites all over my body, the A/C died and was never fixed, the rooms are small and the staff is rude and unwilling to help. Bottom line, the place SUCKED! Good location though, that's about it. more

Beautiful hotel with very friendly and extremely helpful staff a 5 minute walk from the wonderful Dumo and the San Lorenzo market. Large and spacious room with lovely bathroom. The breakfast spread is... more

Having left a Boscolo hotel in Venice really disappointed (see my review Hotel Dei Dogi) we were hoping this would make up for it. We were booked for 4 days, we have cancelled two of those. I booked a suite (2 adults 2 kids) and a standard room, what I actually got was an attic room (very low headroom in... more

We stayed at this hotel a couple of nights during our Honeymoon and we were very disappointed. I had originally booked it through hotels.com before I discovered tripadvisor.com...unfortunately, I was unable to cancel my reservation after I read the reviews (first sign that it wasn't good if they lock you in). I tried to keep an open mind and thought... more

Electric switches in rooms you need a PhD in Electical Engineering to figure out how to use. Plumbing in rooms generally broken down. Central heating controls in rooms don't work. Breakfast very minimalist, not to international standards. No eggs, cooked breakfasts, choice limited. Coffee served from jugs one might use on a camping holiday. Bar was closed when we returned... more
