Great location. Less than 5 minutes away from the Duomo and the Uffizi Galleries. The room was comfortable and the breakfast they offered was great. They had a nice little terrace on the roof too where you can hang out with a great view. The staff was also very helpful. As many reviewers have said, the only negative is the... more

In central Florence, yet quiet. Very clean and comfortable. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful. Just like having your own apartment in this 15th century palazzo, come and go as you please. Only drawback: the 77 steps to the third floor, and there's no lift. Highly recommended. more

It is a great B&B right in the heart of Florence, featuring lovely rooms, a gust lounge, a kitchen with all appliances and a roof terrace. The owner and the staff are pleasant and accomodating. The only negative is that it can get pretty noisy at night. more

We arrived in Florence not knowing what to expect at this B & B. We walked from the train station which is about a 20 minute walk (mostly because of all hte people). The rumour that there is a lot of stairs is true, but once inside it's great. But there were people of a variety of ages staying there... more

We stayed here in May,2008. I can't add much to the other reveiws. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Yes, it's pretty difficult to negotiate the stairs with heavy luggage. It's a good reason to travel light. The B and B is very centrally located and still quiet. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. One thing that no one... more

Location is important to us during short visits. We want to be able to walk to most attractions. Florence is small enough that there are probably plenty of hotels and B&Bs that would fit the bill. Il Bargello B&B certainly did. We only had a couple days in Florence and easily got to the main attractions on foot. As you've... more

We stayed at Il Bargello for 7 nights, and were delighted. An ideal location within walking distance from all the historical sites, but not noisy at night. Gabriella, Maggie and Celine were really friendly, helpful and gave us lots of good advice, booked us into the galleries, and a reservation at a restaurant with a view of the Ponte Vecchi.... more

We were warned about the stairs - and they are daunting - but apart from getting luggage up them (and Maggie did help us), you only really need to go up once a day! What we loved was the fact that you could just relax in the lounge, or on the terrace, make a cup of tea, eat home-made biscuits... more

At first hesitant about a B&B experience, I have no regret about the decision to stay at Il Bargello. Yes, it's on the third floor (fourth, by our North American counting), but I, a 54 year old woman, had no problem. Owner Gabriella was very welcoming and available, but was never "over-present"...we felt it was very private. However, when we... more
