We stayed here in July for 3 nights before going out into the countryside for a wedding (Castellina in Chianti). The location is quite central and everything you'd want to see is walking distance away (the best way to see Florence anyway). The room we stayed in was the one featured on the website and was very clean, spacious (for... more

A little long overdue review but I am sure Accademia is still as lovely. A little loss for choices, as one always is in choosing a hotel, we finally settled on Accademia House. Arriving from Rome, after Federici, Accademia seem much smaller but nevertheless we loved that the air condition works really well, much needed after a long day of... more

Accademia House is a unique B&B. The vaulted ceilings and exposed brick along with the dark, detailed doors and moldings give it such character. We loved our room. I also enjoyed letting ourselves into a residential building (as opposed to commercial hotel); it just added to the experience. And it is removed from the tourist chaos, but still an easy... more

Great value for money! The room was huge and very clean. Marco was a great host and provided us with load of helpful information about the area. Definitely recommend it for a short visit, especially if you are on a budget! There are lots of great places to eat around the neighborhood. Accademia house is 15 minute walk from the... more

We really enjoyed our stay in Florence at Accademia house. The accommodation was very spacious, well furnished and well maintained (we stayed in the Antiq Room). The landlord Marco was a real 'gold mine' of information, being exceptionally helpful when it came to recommending restaurants and making dinner reservations in Florence - he even helped us arranging an impromptu rehearsal... more

This is lovely place to stay away from the crowds but close enough to all the action. Great advice from the owner Marco who is very friendly and helpful. We hate big impersonal business hotels so always look for boutique hotels / apartments so we can have our freedom with comfort. Academia House is just that. We emailed Marco directly... more

The Accademia House was the best B& B we have ever stayed at. We were in Italy for 2 weeks and Marco is the only person who was hospitable, helpful, personable and honest about directions, where to eat, shop, etc. When we got there he sat us down (as he does for every guest) and got out a map with... more

My friend, her daughter and I stayed here in May 2007. If you have heavy luggage, you better have a sense of humor to get it up the 19 steep steps; magically, Marco appeared just as we rang the buzzer upon arrival. He is unbelievable - so warm and inviting - extremely knowledgeable, absolutely the best host! We still talk... more

We stayed in Marco's bed and breakfast in May 2007 and had a wonderful time. Before we even left for our trip, we mentioned to Marco that we would like to see certain sights (Accademia, Uffizi) and asked for tips on how to book reservations. Instead of instructions, to our surprise he booked the places for us, with suggested times... more

It is difficult to get to from Florence Station (as Florence is difficult to navigate around!), but once you get pass the one and only flight of stairs, all is well. Marco is a wonderful host, who has so many wonderful tips of how to get around and what to see. The room we stayed in was a King sized... more
