Villa Elda is a nice hotel, but only nice and not deserving of its no.1 ranking. First: it is very pricey given the quality of its rooms and the above average furnishings, size, and ambiance. Second: there are no lounges to speak of,no public rooms Third: the breakfast was mediocre and the coffee was not drinkable! Having said that,I will say Giorgia(the owner)... more
My wife and I stayed at Villa Elda in June of this year(2008). I had been to the area before and had some business to attend to on this trip. We looked on TripAdvisor and saw some good reviews so decided to contact the Hotel directly. The staff was wonderful and very responsive regarding reservations. Their English is very good.... more
Stayed in one of the 11 lovely rooms at Villa Elda June 10-13 2008. Be sure to ask for a room with view of the ancient city of Siena! Giorgia is a most gracious hostess and we also enjoyed meeting her handsome son Davide. Our room was spotless, with a large modern bathroom, a TV with cable, a mini-bar, and... more
We stayed at the Villa Elda for two nights in mid-June. We were traveling with our daughters and in-laws and had three rooms at the hotel. We were extremely pleased with all aspects of the property. The rooms were very clean and updated, the morning breakfast was of good quality, and the service was impeccable. While the property is located... more

Breakfast in the garden is a great way to start the day. (only negative for us was the cat who woudn't go away, we're dog... more
We couldn't believe how lucky we were to stay in the beautiful villa. Not only was the room spacious and comfortable, overlooking the beautiful town of Siena and the surrounding hillside, but Georgia (the owner) was kind, warm, and willing to help us with our smallest request. The breakfast was delicious and can be taken in the lush and peaceful... more
Overall, we are very glad we chose this hotel. Here are the things we enjoyed about it: Our room was nice, clean, and well designed and kept. The breakfast buffet was terrific every time. The hotel dog, Deena(very small) was very energetic and cute. The staff was kind and willing to help with lunch and dinner reservations\suggestions. On the other... more
We had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Villa Elda in Siena during our May 2008 visit to Italy. It is a delightful, clean, well-maintained hotel in a quiet, elegant area that is away from the crowds, but conveniently within easy walking distance to the old town center and Piazza del Campo. Our room was bright, airy, and well... more
