The Subasio is located with a beautiful view,but the older hotel does need to be reburbished. Some larger rooms are okay according to others. The main thing we did not like were our beds-more like camp cots. Right there in walking distance of the Basicilia of St. Francis. more

If you aren't lucky enough to get a room with a view and end up with one looking onto the street leading to the basilica then you are in for a horrible time. This is the perfect location in Assisi. Ask for a balcony overlooking the valley and have dinner in the restaurant at sunset. Sure the staff is not going to fawn over you.
