Of all the hotels our Globus tour group stayed in, this one was my least favorite. Outwardly, in the lobby and dining rooms, the hotel is very pretty. But the beauty stops above the ground floor. Our rooms varied greatly - from a nice-sized one overlooking the lake to a tiny one to mine which was nice-sized, but looking across... more

We were allocated Room 105 and on entering saw that it had a small double bed, tiny bathroom but a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake. Don’t be deceived, the hotel is advertised as being ‘on the lake’. It is in fact one block back but you can still see the lake which is lovely. We are a mother and daughter... more

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a room facing the lake. The view was spectacular. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very helpfull if you need help in planning your activities. The bar area is a little on the smokey side but that is something you will find everywhere in Europe. This hotel was a... more

We did a 2 wk tour of Austria and Switzerland. This was our last hotel for 2 nites on our trip. Hotel has beautiful apperance with a lovely porch. Lobby is elegant and grand but that's where it stops. Our room was bleak and noisy(for which I dont blame hotel however there was no a/c and we had to leave... more

First the good, the Grand Hotel had availability the day of (maybe a bad sign when the rest of the hotels were booked), but it was nice to walk in and get a room. The hotel is located across the street from the lake and adjacent to a beautiful walk lakeside. Lucerne is an unbelievable place. The city is beautiful... more

We stayed 4 nights at the Europe in September, the location opposite the lake is great with balconies on lake facing rooms. The hotel primarily caters for large tour groups who I hate to say tend to think that they own the place. We were not on a tour & found the staff to be polite & answered any questions,... more

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel on our Globus Tour (Scenic Delights). This hotel is old. The floors creek and the locks stick. It took us at least 5 tries to get our room door unlocked each time we wanted to get in. There is no air conditioning and we were there in the middle of what we were... more

Hotel is adjacent to a large building site. Work will continue for several months. Rooms facing Lucerne are worst affected. Hotel staff disinterested but Expedia very good at dealing with complaint. Rooms on 5th floor are in the attic. You would need to be less than 1.2m tall to use the shower due to the slope of the roof.. Hotel... more

The hotel is nicely located and offers a good view of the Lucerne lake but these advantages are strongly weighed down by the fact that the hotel intends to cater only to group tour travellers and is a definite no no for individual travellers. We stayed in this hotel for three days this June and were very dissattisfied with the... more

I stayed in the Grand Hotel Europe for three nights in June 2007. My wife and I found that the hotel was clean and adequate but nothing beyond that. Our stay included standard rooms and cold breakfasts in the morning. As part of a church choir tour I had greater insight into the range of room conditions than the average... more
