The Toren is prominently placed amongst the grand 17th century canal houses of the Keizergracht. They form a perfect backdrop to the striking transformation of the hotel. Well known interior designer Wim vandeOudeweetering took charge of creating a chic, theatrical and slightly mystical ambience, in which style, warmth and comfort unite. The 38 guestrooms are all different and vary from small and elegant to spacious and stunningly beautiful. more » « less

After a flight cancellation we stayed one night at this hotel suggested by hotel reservations desk at Schiphol airport and were impressed by its originality, friendly helpful staff and unique room design. It's canalside location in the heart of the Jordaan district meant that some of Amsterdam's best cafe's and buildings were within easy reach and the station for trains... more

Stayed at the Toren for 5 nights this April 2008. We stayed in the annex a few doors down from the main building in a superior room with a canal view. I have traveled to europe many times over the years and I am aware of what is considered a spacious room. I was very happy with the size- not... more

I stayed here for one bitterly cold night (outside) in December last year. This has to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in, and I have stayed in a few over the years, let me tell you. On arrival you will be surprised at the lovely decor of the ground floor, not to mention the warmth and charm... more

Ok Hotel. I stayed in a room at the back - v quiet and decent size room. Smelled of smoke which wasnt nice. Colours were very gaudy. Cost me about £130 and breakfast was extra. Nice bar but pricey. Location good - alongside a canal. No real wow factor glad I was only stopping one night. Next time I'll stay... more

We stayed at the Toren Hotel for 5 days from 11th Jan - 16th Jan 2008. We were very impressed by the feel of the hotel it is decorated in a 17th century style with big chandeliers and open fireplaces. The location of the hotel is excellent it is just round the corner from Anne Franks House, and in walking... more

The Hotel and the building three doors down were both incredibly decorated. Our canal side room had a magnificent view, was luxuriously furnished and really had all the conveniences. The staff were very helpful, and though we only partook of the breakfast buffet once (on Christmas morning) it was very nice. We were taken aback at 12 euros per person,... more

My first impression of this hotel was very positive. The hotel was walkable from the train station, about 10-15 minutes and is a great way to immediately get a sense of the neighborhood in which you will be staying. The staff checked us in promptly and the bellman took our bags up to the second floor. I didn't see an... more
