Great Location on Damrak, across the road from Debjenkorf a great dpartment store & a stones trow from Dam Square. The walls were a little thin, we had a room backing onto the stairs & we could hear everyone coming up or down the stairs. The bathroom has a glass door, a bit bizarre, but hey it is Amsterdam! The... more

We have just returned from a great 4 night stay in Amsterdam, This hotel was very central for shopping / attractions and close to the Station. The Staff are very helpful and friendly.Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, just one down side...no toast!! We wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Amsterdam.and plan to return soon. If you... more
My experience with this hotel was outstanding. From what I have read, it depends on your room. My wife and I had a Jr. Suit. Two french doors overlooking Damrak. Very high ceilings, very large room by euro standards. I mean offense to the euros, but space can be a premium there. The restaurant was fabulous!!!! Service excellent. I would... more
Booked directly with hotel for a business trip. Very centrally located, right off the Dam and a ten min walk to the central rail station. Base rm rate about $200 /nite. Room: small of course, quite typical for EU, but since travelling alone, was fine (suspect was even in a double occupancy room - can't imagine being particularly comfortable if... more
Never been in Amsterdam before. Picked this hotel because it was near Dam Square (main square) and on the Damrak. It was opposite a lovely stone building which was in fact a department store! Minutes from Dam Square with Madame Toussauds and the "red light district" was about 5 minutes away through the square - worth a wonder through to... more

Just got back from spending wedding anniversary/christmas. Had 2 flights cancelled so arrived at hotel a day late...fantastic staff couldn't have helped more. We extended a night and they didn't charged for the missed night. Also upgraded us to a suite and placed flowers in the room . Very clean room, great minibar regularly stocked. We enjoyed the breakfast. We... more
Just got back from a long weekend at the Roode Leeuw in Amsterdam to celebrate my boyfriend's 40th birthday. Got a really good deal inlcuding breakfast and I sent the hotel an email asking for a nice quiet, non smoking room, preferably with a nice view as it was for my boyfriend's 40th and they went further than that and... more
