We have traveled all over Europe and have to say that the Fita is an exemplary family-run hotel. Whatever it may lack in the way of "luxury" it more than makes up for in: - location: quiet side street steps away from the museums, Vondel Park, shopping, and trams that take you to the center in minutes - cleanliness -... more

Hotel Fita's delightfully located on a quiet residential street right behind the high-end shopping street (Chanel ....) The room's a little tight but the bathroom's big! Our room was right next to a playground for a childcare centre so you can imagine how noisy it gets during the day with screaming kids playing right by your window... We were ready... more

Hotel Fita is a clean, modest, little hotel in a great location. On a quiet residential street, it's a short block away from both the Van Gogh Museum and Amsterdam's Fifth Avenue. It's far enough away from the riff-raff of the old city center that you don't feel like you're trapped in tourist hell, but near enough (and Amsterdam's so... more

This exceptionally clean, quiet and friendly hotel allows free phone calls and internet access. Very hot powerful showers and wonderful beds and linens. GREAT breakfast included with fresh squeezed OJ and fabulous coffee. Very friendly and helpful staff. Short walk to museums and great shopping. Short walk to tram that takes you anywhere in Amsterdam. This is a wonderful place... more

We had a reservation to spend four nights at the Hotel Fita, but our flight from Istanbul was delayed, then canceled -- so I had to call at the last minute and tell the hotel we'd be arriving the next day and would be spending only three nights. Although they would have had every right, under their written policy, to... more

Our stay at Hotel Fita was very nice. We had two rooms for two nights. We felt that this hotel is a very good value. It is neat and clean and the location is great. We had been in our room only a couple of minutes, when we were greeted to a glass of bubbly and a bowl of cashews.... more

We stayed in Hotel Fita for 3 nights in mid-August. The hotel is small and family run. The guests are well cared for. Right from check-in to the day we left, we never felt away from home. The small touches such as the welcome Champagne, free laundry and free telephone calls (international) made us feel really welcome. Hans was helpful... more

We arrived at the Hotel Fita at the end of our three week trip through France and Amsterdam. My husband, myself and my mother-in-law thought this was the most elegant hotel we had stayed in during our trip. Hans met us and showed us our rooms, where he left with us glasses of bubbly and a bowl of cashews. Our... more

It's a very nice hotel just behind the high-end shops. One of the other reviews alluded to thin walls, but the single rooms on the first floor have concrete walls that made the room extra quiet. Be ready though, the single room is about 3 meters by 4 meters (9 x 12 feet), smaller than my college dorm. Breakfast was... more

I agree with all of the positive reviews I read prior to booking my stay there. The hotel has a small, homey, and clean feel to it. It is out of the way of the really busy, noisy streets, yet is very close to everything you'd want to do. The espresso machine in the room got a lot of use... more
