Hotel Roemer was by far the best hotel I have had the pleasure to stay in. My husband and I visited Amsterdam as the last stop on a whirlwind European honeymoon. By the time we landed in Amsterdam, both of us were sick as dogs. Head cold that moved into our chest.... it was miserable. But being sick in that... more

Visitors to Europe in late January will not struggle to find available hotel rooms. Although Amsterdam is mobbed with tourists in the summer (and hellishly expensive as a result), in January, hotels compete for the relatively few visitors willing to brave post-holiday winter weather in the Netherlands. I did some online research and decided to go with the Hotel Roemer's... more

We stayed 2 nights at the Roemer over Easter and we found it really very nice. We had a room downstairs, Room 11. At first, we found it a little strange to be going downstairs, but it was a really spacious room (compared with most European hotel rooms) with a nice bathroom & jacuzzi tub, it felt like having your... more

Quaint and cozy in a modern sort of way. I really liked it, and felt that Hotel Roemer gave little tips on interior decorating. My boyfriend wanted the "Grass thatch" painting that hung in the hallway, still does :) We had the executive suite, and only stayed one night, which wasn't enough to fully enjoy the room. Tub and all...... more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of March before I then stayed on in the same hotel for a further 2 nights on my own for business. Even though we arrived late because of delayed flights into Schipol we received a very warm welcome from a lovely girl on reception who couldn't have been... more

I have stayed at no less than 10 different hotels in Amsterdam over the years, and I can honestly say that the Roemer surpasses them all. The location is great. It's a three minute walk to the Leidseplein, very close to the museums and to the high fashion street. It is on a quiet, small street so there is little... more

Pricey but very friendly, service impeccable, and a nice breakfast included. For families; location is good:- 2 mins walk to canal bus and 1 min walk to Vondelpark (nice restaurant under the film museum), 5 mins Von Gogh museum more

My wife and I stayed here May 2007, after reading the great reviews on here. It was a very nice place, although it is a bit off the beaten path , depending on what you want to do. Renting a bike is almost necessary , as the hotel didn't seem to have very many of them for guests. Conveniently, there... more

Fab jacuzzi bath, excellent flat screen TVs, 3 of them! Complimentary whisky, gin and vodka also tea and expresso coffee. A DVD player and a docking station for... more

A colleague and I stayed one night at this lovely hotel. I must admit, after taking a long, windy trip in a cab to the hotel and seeing the check in desk (which literally is a one-person desk in the entrance of the hotel), I was worried. I am a self-proclaimed hotel snob, so wasn't sure what I had gotten... more
