After reading a lot of negative stories about hotels in Athens we were surprised at this hotel. Although not right in the centre it was within easy walking distance to a metro station. Although this hotel is in a working neighborhood, it is safe to walk around to shops and restaurants and feels like real Athens. We stayed 5 days at the Best Western Museum in Athens and it was great but the location is weird to say the least. Avoid the park between the Museum and the Polytechnic Institute. We are not used to walking through shooting galleries!!! We saw junkies passed out with needles in their arms and needles laying all over the place.... more

The hotel location was great! It's one block away from a main avenue were public transportation is available. The closest subway station is walking distance from the hotel, probably 2-3 blocks away.
