The Zinon is a good, clean hotel located about 20 minutes walk north of the Acropolis area. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean (bathroom not exactly spacious however), breakfast adequate, in all very good value for money. Location is good except that some of the streets around are rather dark and dodgy (eg Zinonos) and best avoided by single travellers... more

We stayed here in May 2008 for 68 EUR/night for 2 people. We got a double bed, which was actually two twins pushed together. We booked the "Quiet Location" room, which had a balcony facing a concrete wall. But it was indeed quiet. The hotel itself was basic and clean. We used the hotel to attend a conference so cannot comment on accessibility to tourist attractions, but it is central, and 5 mins walk from the Metro station. Hotel was extremely good value at about £50 per night. Clean, recently refurbished and with helpful staff, the only negative was mediocre breakfast....I prefer to breakfast out, so it didn't bother me.... more

Great location. Very close to the metro(Omonia Station) and very close to the Acropolis, Agora, Plaka, Hadrians Arch, National Archaeological Museum all by metro or walking. The hotel itself was nice; beds were comfortable, breakfast was good. The showers were VERY small. My biggest issue was finding the hotel. We arrived late at night, and the instructions from the Metro stop were not the best. Additionally, everyone (police, English speaking strangers) kept telling us to be careful.
