Stayed at the Phillipos for the second time as a good stop over after travelling in the Cyclades and before flying back to UK. Good metro links to port and airport. Quiet, safe neighbourhood free of "tourist tat" whilst still being incredibly central to Acropolis, Plaka etc. Room on 6th floor was of a good size with reasonable bathroom including... more

This hotel was very modern and clean. Rooms were of a decent size and the cleanliness of it made for a comfortable stay. It was also situated in a great location - only 5 mins walk to the Acropolis and Temple of Olympian Zeus! It was also very near a metro stop making it easily accessible by public transportation. My boyfriend and I chose Hotel Philippos after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and were not let down. We stayed here on 2 separate occasions in August and had a great experience both times. The location is fantastic - right in the heart of the historic and touristy Plaka region and really near the Acropolis. The rooms on the upper floors... more

We stayed in three different hotels in and around the Acropolis and at 109 Euros (booked through a local travel agent) this was the cheapest, and probably the best value for money. Which isn't to say it was perfect, but nevertheless no enormous disappointment. On the upside the location is very good. It's a few minutes on foot to the... more

I stayed at this hotel in mid-June for a couple of nights. The first night I was put in Room 101. If you happen to get this room, request an immediate change. The room is located right next to the front desk, and also next to a loud fridge. The insulation is horrible. You can hear everything clearly in the... more

Stayed at Philippos for three intervals during a two week trip to Greece. Liked it very much and would happily stay there again. It is across the street from the new Acropolis Museum (not yet open but promised for very soon) and a five minute walk to the Acropolis, close to most classical sites. Rooms are compact but very well... more

Date: 22&23 August, 2007 We were on our way to Crete from Melbourne and stopped over in Athens for 2 nights. We had our 2 daughters aged 8 and 10 and so we got a room with 1 queen and 2 single beds. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We only slept and had breakfast at the hotel, so the... more

First, if you love to enjoy a semi-luxury vacation with resaonable budget, this is a very good choice. Second, if you love to stay in the center of Athen and look directly to the Acropolis on your balcony, this is also a best choice. Third, the hotel has pretty good breadfast. However, if you are ware size L or XL... more

We stayed here for three days and were thrilled with our choice in accommodation. The hotel was so close to the Acropolis, and in fact, we walked to all the places we wanted to visit from the hotel. The location is the best part about the hotel, but also the staff are friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable more

Convenient location, great service & comfortable rooms made our stay at the Phillipos a great experience. We stayed there 3 times during a 9 night vacation. Breakfast was included and consisted of a buffet of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast, eggs, sausages etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our last night was spent on the 5th floor which was... more
