Very basic hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning took a while to cool off the room in 35 degree heat but it did work eventually. My biggest complaint about this hotel was the noise. If you are a light sleeper or you can't sleep with earplugs, then DON'T stay here. Rooms that end... more

We spent 4 nights at the Hotel Adonis in May 2008, and had a great time at this hotel, which we found basic, but clean, with friendly staff. Booking We booked directly with the hotel - we had a recommendation from a friend for this hotel, but couldn't find it available on any of the standard hotel websites. We had... more

We found the Adonis Hotel to be a nice place to stay at a good value. Sure, the rooms are a bit spartan and the bathrooms small by U.S. standards, but if you're in Athens and in the Plaka/Acropolis area you're not going to be in the room very much anyway. Outiside of being a bit noisy at times because... more

2 other girls and myself stayed here for a few days while in Athens. The location is fabulous, close to the main train station, and the Acropolis. The hotel was super clean, but that's about it. Totally basic, not glamorous, but doable for some ballers on a budget. :) The staff was really nice and helpful, and made the stay... more

The Adonis Hotel was a lifesaver for us on our recent trip to Greece. We had a horrible experience at the Tempi Hotel and ended up getting a room the night we called (4/1/07) and for the following Friday. I don't understand why the Adonis is rated unfavorably compared to the Tempi, because they're worlds apart. This may be because... more

We stayed at the Adonis for 2 nights before flying back from our trip to Greece: Pros: Central Location, walking distance to everything and in a safe area Cons: Super small bed,( hard) and paper thin sheets. Towels are small and thin As others have said, the shower stall is so small and everything gets wet. It was clean, and... more

This hotel is so convienent and despite the impossibly small shower area (we rigged a better system for the curtain to some pipes up near the top of the toilet so the water wouldn't get the toilet all wet) we loved this hotel mostly for its cosiness and closeness to the Plaka. No show on Greek yogurt was another disappointment... more

I had high hopes for this hotel given the very favorable listings in two reputable travel guides, Lonely Planet ("one of the best deals around") and Rick Steves ("a small modern hotel"). I phoned the hotel to make my reservation (since they have no internet or website access ... now I know why!) and dealt with a reasonably friendly clerk,... more

We stayed at the Adonis in early October. For 75 Euros a night it was overpriced. The room was fine, it was pretty basic, but clean. The bathroom was small and the shower is tiny. It would be a feat to shower without soaking the bathroom floor. The location is very good. Breakfast was minimal although the view was nice.... more
