In Athens for a week, stuck at a hotel near the airport, we reached out to find somewhere.. anywhere on the beach for the remainder of our stay. We literally stumbled onto the Aegeon Beach Hotel in Sounio ! We booked the hotel based on the internet website and pictures only to arrive there and discover that, while beautiful, the... more
The Aegeon Beach is situated in a truly spectacular and beautiful location (see photo). The Temple of Poseidon ovelooks the temple and is fantastic to look upto during the day while having breakfast or at night from your room balcony when the 450BC temple ruins is lit up (see photo). We stayed for 2 days in the off season in... more
First off let me start off by saying that I live in a small town in Connecticut and I enjoy the quiet scene. It was my first time in Greece and my boyfriend who lives in Sunio recommended this hotel. The staff was great as we walked in and asked for a room last minute. Our room was 212 which... more
One of the most beautiful hotels I ever stayed at. Breathtaking location - looking out of the window at night at the lit temple of Poseidon is awe-inspiring and during the day, the bay is dotted with boats. Inside the hotel, everything is designed with meticulous attention to detail - from the pattern of floor tiles to the layering of... more
It really isn't the hotel that is so special; even though the staff was SUPERB; it is the location. If you are in Athens for at least three days, this is a good place to go to in order to really see what Greece is all about. The drive to the hotel (about an hour), gives you a good view... more
The hotel is in Cape Sounio (near to Grecotel Cape Sounio), not in Athenes. We have stayed in a junior suite for three nights. Room is big, though and little bit dated. The big balcony with a fine view of the sea. (I will notice, that Temple of Poseidon is not visible from any room, except a presidential suite, beach... more
We returned from Santorini to Athens and overnighted at the Aegeon Beach Hotel before departing for home. What a beautiful spot! I have wanted to see the Temple of Poseidon for years, and this was the perfect opportunity. We enjoyed the hotel - the rooms are modern and comfortable with good reading lights and balconies overlooking a fantastic sea. We... more
My wife and I stayed at Aegeon Beach Hotel in Cape Sounion (30 mins by taxi from Athens airport) for 5 nights recently and we are already planning to return next year. The first thing that strikes you as you enter is how modern, earthy and clean the property is. Very friendly and helpful staff ensured a smooth check-in and... more
As past reviewers have suggested, we used the Aegeon Beach Hotel as "landing pad" to begin our Greek holiday. It's only 30 minutes by taxi (40 Euros) from the new Athens airport, and 1 hour (60 Euros) by taxi to central Athens. There couldn't be a lovelier or more relaxing spot to recover from the 12-hour flight. The photos on... more
