This was a lovely hotel with excellent facilities, great location (for the skliing and nightlife/daylife) slap bang under the main ski lifts and right in the middle of town. Friendly and helpful staff, who spoke embarassingly good English. The draw back for most would be that the arrangements for evening meals was very early evening (18:00-18:30) which didn't suit us... more

We stayed for 4 nights at the Diplomat in July 2008, and were very pleased with the experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent English. Our room was clean, high-ceilinged and very spacious, with a huge bed. Everything worked, all the usual extras were there (although no tea-making facilities in the room - but that I think is... more

We stayed in the Hotel Diplomat for two nights in mid-May 2008, based on the recommendations set forth from these reviews. Be aware that the hotel is currently largely covered with outside scaffolding (our hotel room window looked directly out on multiple platforms, tools, etc). The size of the room was not, in fact, large, as an earlier reviewer stated.... more

We had only one night in this boutique hotel but location, decor, food and staff were exceptional. The hotel looks as if its newly decorated and in fact the external building was under scaffolding whilst we were there. Although the decor is very modern they have some of the original features eg a caged type lift which looked stunning. The... more

Had a business trip to Sweden and stayed at the Diplomat for five days. Here’s the quick review of the hotel: • Great location: on Strandvegen across from a picturesque canal; within walking distance to Old Town and Djurgarden (parks and museums). The hotel is situated at the fulcrum of all these areas. • Old fashioned elegance: very comfortable rooms... more

From initial arrival to booking out 5 days later, we found the staff to be helpful, pleasant and professional. Our room was a good size, clean, tidy and well stocked with any items we may have required. The restaurant was excellent as was the bar and the first floor cocktail lounge. Stockholm is a beautiful place to visit, plenty of... more

This was a great location, great hotel and had excellent service. We'd recommend this in a second and stay here again. The staff was very helpful in any aspect (transportation, restaurant recommendations, spa services, etc). Breakfast and dinner were superb at this hotel. Also the first floor relaxing lounge was very well done. more

I like to stay in "Nice Hotels". This is a nice hotel. The rooms here huge and clean, with internet on the TV and a limited range of movies on demand. The shower was one of those decadent showers that are attached to the ceiling and rain warm water down on you like a mini-waterfall. Additionally, the Hotel restaurant served... more

The 3rd time we've stayed at this hotel in 5 years, so we obviously like it. When we booked this year there was no mention that there would be resoration / decoration work going on to the exterior. Luckily, our own balconies were unaffected, so we weren't inconvenienced at all. We usually stay in one of the junior suites -... more
