Booking was awkward, in that their web site said they had no rooms, yet they were able to book us in by direct email contact. Worried us a little but it worked out OK. Location is OK, just beyond the far end of Laugarvega, near the bus station, a good place to start walking through the shops, about 10-15 minutes... more

My girlfriends and I stayed at Hotel Reykjavik for a bachelotte weekend booked through Iceland Air during the last weekend in April. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful in securing our rooms the morning of our arrival and helping us with some miscommunication with the Iceland Air travel agents. The hotel is within 10 minutes walk to downtown and... more

Its OK value for Iceland and the rooms are quite nice. But our stay was spoilt by the hotel doing building work on the second floor up until about 9:40pm! When I phoned reception to complain they said "is that a problem?" and "it will only go on for another hour"... incredible. Breakfast is basic - as it is in... more

Hotel Reykjavik was the perfect place to stay. The photos of the hotel do not do it justice. We thought it looked decent, clean and was it affordable so we booked it. The bus pulled up to the hotel and we were shocked. The lobby was quaint and had so many resources for what to do while traveling in Iceland.... more

Selected this property thru an Icelandair Package. Arived Sunday morning from US and no rooms were available until noon. Not much to do Sunday mornings in Reykjavik. Kind enough to store luggage. Single room miniscule. One twin bed against the wall with small 19" TV with a couple of English channels. Room comes with fridge and ensuite bathrom with small... more

The Hotel Reykjavik is well-priced and in a good location. It's not fancy, and the rooms are quite small and old-fashioned. But it's comfortable, the reception staff are very friendly and informative, and the complimentary breakfast is really good. I recommend filling up on the brekky, as Reykjavik is such an expensive city where food costs at least 25% more... more

My family and I stayed six nights at the Hotel Reykjavik and recommend it highly. The rooms are spotless and the beds comfortable. The location was excellent, a two-block walk to the main shopping and restaurant area. Hotel staff was very friendly and all spoke excellent English. Front desk staff was a great source of local information and gave good... more

Warm and friendly welcome, spotless reception. Duty receptionist had everything in hand, gave us information about the area, then showed us rooms that would be suitable for us. The room we made our home was at the front of the hotel, windows all around clean and well presented. Bathroom is small just a wet area. However night time fell! The... more
