Only stay at the Clarion if you can't get in to one of the better hotels in Stavanger. the room was smallish with very limited storage and the housekeeping was awful. We stayed 7 nights and after 5 asked when the sheets got changed. Everyday I was told we will change them. So they did but only that one day.The... more

I just got back from Stavanger, Norway. I stayed in the Clarion Hotel for 3 nights (22-25 August). Here is what I thought: GOOD POINTS - Staff are very helpful and good english - Location is near to the harbour and city centre - Room has a good view and rooms are very clean - Breakfast was great - Near... more

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times, first for business but I liked it so much I came back with my girlfriend for a weekend in Stavanger, partially just to enjoy the nice hotel again. The rooms are pretty much average size for norwegian hotels but they are nicely decorated, and with flat-screen tvs. Bathrooms are light and... more

We were getting married, and we went to this hotel to look at the wedding suites. One stood out with hardwood floors, floors to ceiling windows and leather couches. We booked this with the full wedding package (breakfast in bed plus plus..) About a week before the wedding, the hotel called us to say that the hot tub will not... more

I stayed here 1 night on a buissness trip. The room was nice with big floor to roof windows. A working desk, a chair and comfortable bed. Great breakfast. The hotel looks clean and modern and the staff were extremely helpful. We arrived early, around 8:30 am and there were no rooms available. This is a problem in Stavanger. Very... more

I stayed at this hotel for more than 60 nights in 2007. The rooms are not very big and if you are a tourist with a lot of luggage, you don't have a lot of storage room. For a single business traveller, it is ok. The rooms are modern and have all the amneties that are needed. It was acceptable... more

Stayed here for two nights in July. Overall the hotel was decent, but not great value for the cost. I was drawn by the modern facade and was hoping that the interior was equally as impressive. Standard rooms and bathroom were comparatively large by European standards, but furniture and decor seemed cheap and cold. Dining area was nice with a... more

It doesn't matter that the rooms are okay and of a decent size, when you spend all your time being irritated by all the things that are not okay. Firstly, when we arrived, we were given a twin room, although I had ordered a double (you're given a choice when you book at the web site). When I contacted reception,... more

This is a great hotel, in a great location. Very smart and business like. Standard room was quite small, but immaculate and the only room we had in Norway that provided tea and coffee facilities in the room. There is a fab jacuzzi and sauna on the top floor with great views of Stavanger. Unforunately jacuzzi was out of order!!!!... more

OK, this isn’t your typical Norwegian hotel room. I was lucky enough to get a suite: partly because I booked late and there were no regular rooms left anywhere in Stavanger and partly, I like to think, because the travel desk wanted to apologise for sending me to the First Hotel Alstor earlier in the year! This is the one... more
