We stayed over the weekend and arrived late after meeting the groom of the wedding we were attending on the Saturday. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 children. We were promised platinum suite overlooking bay, having viewed previous comments this will be no surprise, we did get the room i.e the spacious room but overlooking grotty alley... more

We had specifically booked a Platinum Executive Room for the August Bank Holiday, described on the hotel’s own website as having “a spacious seating area with stunning views overlooking Douglas Bay”, so we felt terribly disappointed when upon arrival and due to “maintenance problems” we found ourselves downgraded to a standard room with just enough space to walk around the... more

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now for work. The staff are very polite and attentive. The rooms have been recently renovated and are of a reasonable size. Being on the sea front gives you a great view out over the promenade. However the rooms at the back do not afford much of a view at all. The... more

We stayed in a large 2nd floor room overlooking the promenade, this was the only good thing about the room. Where do I start ? The carpet was absolutely disgustingly dirty and stained in many places along with 3 iron burns....I don't think it was vaccumed during our 6 night stay.......it's the only place I've been when I had to... more

I booked this hotel for Easter bank holiday (three nights) However, we couldn't go because there were high winds across the Irish Sea and the boat couldn't sail. On Good Friday morning, I rang the hotel to cancel the booking. The girl on the phone appeared to be very understanding. She said that we would have to pay for that... more

Claremont Hotel on the prom is certainly worth considering. The staff were great and helpful. The food was better than we had hoped and the Manx Kippers are worth the journey The room although small was well equiped and clean. The position is central making it easy to get around the town. I would certainly stay there again. In fact... more

It's a strange sort of place, the Claremont, but I guess that's all part of its charm. First of all, the location is superb, close to everything you could possibly wish to see or do in Douglas and - if you get a room at the front - a great sea view. Staff were generally helpful and the room I... more

We arrived at the Claremont during Grand Prix and the hotel is very busy. We were informed upon arrival that we have to move rooms on the 2nd night. Wedidn't mind. On top of that was a very friendly and informative receptionist named Marie (the other receptionists are also friendly). The rooms were okay but can be refurbished as the... more
