This hotel has done nothing to address the concerns of previous reviewers. It is a rabbit warren of stairs and corridors and not well signposted making our first trips to reception an adventure each time. A quarter of the rooms, ie 16 of the 64, still suffer from the awful noise from the extractor fans which made our room a... more

We stayed at theRutland for four nights with a coach party from Devon. Although the cleanliness of the rooms and the actual fittings cannot be faulted, beware of the "Most of our rooms have a sea view" promise. We were given, as were several of our party, a room overlooking a dirty courtyard and the kitchens. The noise from the kitchen... more

The rutland hotel is nice friendly place to stay. It wasn't busy when i stayed, so maybe thats why it was quieter then it would have been in the summber. But thats what i like about it. Apon arriving you do have some dangerous steps in when it raining but if you take care and hold on to the rail... more

Just returned from a 3 day break at the Rutland with my wife. We were visiting family in Douglas, so fortunately did not have to spend too much time at this hotel. On arrival we were given a room close to a large extractor device from the kitchen which we felt was noisy, even with the windows closed. We asked... more

This is a very mediocre 3 star hotel. The reception area was grubby and dirty and the staircase could have done with a good hoovering it was filthy. Our bedroom was on the 4th floor and although we had a very sloping room it was clean and the view was great. The week we visited was the grand prix week... more

Stayed for 5 days with a coach party at start of August. First impressions were the potentially dangerous tiled stairs into the building which were extremely slippy with the rain, then get given a key and find your own way to your room. Easier said than done as the building is a maze of half landings and dead ends and... more

Booked for one night in a room without sea view as thought it might be noisy, however on arrival was disapointed to have a view of a brick wall so decided to upgrade for an extra £20 to a room with sea view. The room was fine although there were hairs in the bath [ugh!] Had booked a table in... more

I stayed at the Rutland for two midweek nights in August. I had booked a single room for GBP50 per night and had requested a sea view when booking. When checking in I was told that all of the single rooms faced away from the sea. I thought this was a great opportunity for the hotel to offer me an... more

My husband and I stayed at the Rutland hotel during our stay at the Isle of Man TT Races. Things I liked were the breakfasts were good, as I'm not much of a fan of UK food... The location was good as it wasn't too far to travel to the Grandstands for the TT's or to Bushy's beer tent. The... more

We have just returned from a trip to the Rutland. The hotel has obviously been refurbished recently and is in excellent condition. The bedrooms are clean and bright with the on-suite facilities particularly good. The food was of a good standard although we did have the same group of vegetables every night during our 4 day stay. This was probably... more
