We expected three star value and got more. The hotel is as good as you will get for the money. Food is tasty and plentiful and always hot (okay, apart from the salads smart ---). We did not have to eat out once during our week's stay. Only a couple of things let the place down. The "heated outdoor pool"... more

Just got back from the Cygnet after a short break,(2 days). Loved the warm atmosphere , friendly staff. Room was clean and tidy but bathroom a bit small but we managed ok. Good evening entertainment and also played guitar with my friend Ron for the other guests,(we played some Shadows songs). Quite large lounge for a small hotel . Usual... more

We stayed at the Cygnet for a short 3 day break. The hotel is lovely and basic. The rooms are clean and tidy and comfortable, could do with some decoration, especially in the bathroom, and have some information in the rooms on the hotel amenities for their customers. The dining room is a good size, the food is good, but... more

We spent Christmas 2007 at this hotel The only good thing about it was the food. New inexperienced management from April 2007 and it shows, could be described as 'Fawlty Towers' badly in need of refurbishment. Don't go there! more

We stayed here for 7 nights from 11th Aug. The staff here were friendly and helpful. The entertainment every night was good and varied. The bar prices were very reasonable for a hotel. The food was great and the choices were good. We were just let down slightly by the room but weren't in it very long. more

Just returned from a week staying at this hotel. I could reccommend this place to anyone wanting a good clean place to stay, with excellent food and very friendly staff. there was entertainment every night, we particularly enjoyed Glen Carol. He was a runner up on Stars in Their Eyes in 1990 and to be honest I think he should... more
