We changed to this hotel whilst in a lounge awaiting to fly to Sydney. We asked for a car to collect us but on arrival to Sydney there was not one there. I called and went through 3 people before I got told there was not one coming. I was annoyed as the queue for cabs was long. At the... more

Stayed at the Observatory for a night before flying home on a very early morning flight and had mixed experiences with the service received!! On checking in around 2pm we were given a smoking room even though a non smoking had been requested and then when we asked to be changed we had to wait about 40 mins in the... more

I was pleasantly surprised, given the unevenness of the reviews, but also because I rarely find a hotel to be so good, that this was one the best hotels at which I’ve stayed, especially recently. The reception was professional and welcoming, the concierges knowledgeable, eager to help, and very personable, and the Galileo restaurant excellent. Overall the service was great.... more

We stayed recently to celebrate our anniversary. I checked various offers & prices on other sites before calling hotel. Although the package I booked was more expensive than what most other 5 star hotels were offering I was convinced after speaking to the hotel that I would not be disappointed in my choice to stay there. I am so glad... more

Comfortable, relaxing, excellent food and service but the two main Concierges took this hotel to top status; nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has no outside seating area (except over the road by the tennis court) and the bar, although luxurious, lacked atmosphere but these are minor quibbles in the overall five-star picture. more

We stayed at this hotel for New Year, after researching on Tripadvisor and found the service excellent, food on New Years Eve superb and so different from the usual sky scraper, minimalist type hotels you get these days. Concierge very helpful, not only in recommending where to eat but also producing menu's for relevant restaurants. If ever had the opportunity... more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Observatory for a business trip to Sydney. Initially, I asked for one of the nicer chain hotels I am familiar with. Thank goodness, co-workers in Sydney alterted me to The Observatory. The moment I entered the hotel after our 14+ hour flight, I was taken care of attentively yet without any snobbery.... more

My recent stay at The Observatory Hotel was more about the experience than it was about the 5 stars. The service that I received was nothing short of outstanding. From the initial welcome at the front entrance by the valet, to the personalised service at the Galileo restaurant, our stay was the best I have ever experienced. Our waiter for... more

I've stayed everywhere in Sydney (not to name names but literally everywhere) and The Observatory was one of the very few hotels I have yet to try. So when I found out that another high end client was coming in and I had to make another trip up, I decided to give it ago. When I checked it I was... more

Over the past 10 years, I've been lucky enough to travel the world through and through and I always end up coming back to Sydney. Because I'm in love with the city so much, I've had the pleasure to stay in array of different hotels throughout the CBD. My favorite is and forever will be the Hilton however recently I... more
