I went to Dunk with hubby , daughter and a friend with her 3 sons so we were a party of 7. We caught the boat over to Dunk and the guys running the boat were great we saw a whale and they took us as close as they were allowed and we sat and watched the whale - really... more

We returned from our 8 night stay at Dunk and I was there when the reviewers below were accosted. I saw from the beach! Very expensive to do anything there - except play tennis which is free. I agree that it is a 2-3 star resort with 5 start prices. The table d'hotel food at the Beachcomber was terrible so... more

We have just returned from a 4-day stay at Voyages Dunk Island and after most of it was beautiful on our final morning opted to take 2 paddle skis out. There were no staff at the watersports desk so we signed the register as we had been instructed and headed towards the little island just in front of the resort.... more

Dunk Island was supposed to be the highlight of our three week trip to Australia. We stayed four nights and it turned out to be the one place we were truly disappointed. The island's beaches aren't really swimmable as at low tide it is a large mud-pit. We were unlucky with the weather (mostly gray and on and off rainy)... more

We had booked air transfers but the weather was so bad we had to take the bus and Quickcat which was a long journey. We got the plane to Cairns on the way home and would recommend this. The island was beautiful and the food was really good. Above our expectations having read some of the reviews. There were plenty... more

Our honeymoon stay at Dunk was for 6 nights in a beachfront suite. We arrived by the small plane which is highly recommended as you experience fanstastic views of Dunk as well as many other islands on your way down from Cairns. We travelled during school holidays, so everything was open and running, yet still didn't seem overcrowded. I would... more

Dunk Island is a beautiful island, and has many things to do even if the weather is not perfect, for our 5 night stay it was windy and overcast all of the days. Dunk offers a new gym, tennis courts, squash courts, kayaking, sailing and the list goes on, all free of charge which was one of the great aspects... more

My husband and I have recently returned from a fantastic break on Dunk Island. We arrived by small plane, which I would recommend. The transfer from Cairns airport was very efficient and we had great views of the islands as we came into land. We stayed in a light and airy beachfront room, waking up to the sound of lapping... more

Dunk Island it self is beautiful, white sandy beaches, palm trees and tropical gardens. There are some great walks through the rainforest and down to the beach, the views to the mainland and a small island are great from a position of sitting on the beach a and reading a book. However if you are hoping for a romantic time... more

Well we landed back in wintery Adelaide yesterday after a sunny, warm week on Dunk Island. At this time of year the island is warm and generally free of clouds although we had one wet morning, it didn't interfere with our plans! I'd recommend Dunk for families or couples prepared to have time with kids running about at any rate!... more
