We booked Copthorne when we went to Queenstown in July for the Winterfest. We got a lakeview room, which is probably the only room worth getting, because other rooms seem to look into other parts of the hotel. We were not looking to spend a fortune, we were looking for comfy beds, reasonable facilities and that is what we got... more

We took advantage of an autumn promotion called 'True Colours' which was great value. For $NZ149 per night we were given a Superior Lakeview room plus full buffet breakfast for two. From our spacious room, we enjoyed lovely views over the lake and mountains. The bed was comfortable and there were two arm chairs to sit in while enjoying the... more

We stayed in the Copthorne Lakefront Hotel last week- 25 April -1st May and were extremely happy with our experience. We paid an upgrade of $22 for a lake view and I guess we were upgraded to a suite- our room was beautiful. King size bed, spa bath beautiful living area and balcony facing lake as well as extra toilet.... more

We stayed at the Copthorne Resort Lakefront for 3 days in a Superior Lakeview Room. Getting to the room from the lobby was an adventure in itself! we were in room 1353 and to get there from the lobby you had to walk down a hallway to an elevator in Building 1, go down to 3rd floor (Lobby is on... more

We stayed here 4 nights. We paid for a lakeview and we were glad we did as lots of the other rooms appeared to have views of other rooms! The room, although needing a bit of tlc, was comfortable and had good amenities. Breakfast was standard for this type of hotel. It rained one night so we decided to eat... more

Perfect location within a 5min walk of a bustling town. Room with a view over the lake to the "Remarkables". Large hotel with pleasent bar area above the hotel reception. Hotel clean and quiet with friendly helpful staff. No safe in room but available at reception free of charge. Queenstown was a vibrant place with a varied age range. plenty... more

On the whole it's an ok hotel which is near (5 mins walk) to the centre of Queenstown. We just encountered a series of little faults which on their own didn't amount to much, but in combination... When we arrived we found that one lightbulb in the bathroom and one bedlamp were already blown, so we contacted reception about that.... more

2 couples booked 3 nights, asked for a view at check in. Got 2 rooms facing noisy parking lot, very hot day, no a/c, rooms "with view" unbearable. After another long wait at reception, given different rooms with better view. Hotel had a lot of empty rooms so that was not the issue. Views of lake beautiful, but rooms were... more

Great hotel for the price! - we paid AUD$120 for a Lakeview room and were upgraded to a balcony suite! definately do yourself y a favour and pay a bit more to book a lake view because majority of the rooms look into some other persons room and you could be any where in the world the service was great,... more

Having read a few of the other reviews, I agree this hotel is not actually on the lake front, but is only a 2 minute walk from the lake. It's also only 5-10 minutes from the town centre, but is up a hill (which wasn't an issue for us, but could be for less-abled visitors). It is a chain hotel,... more
