Stayed there on our first night in Tasmania, thought it would be a safe option.we were arriving fairly late after a 16 hour day travelling and I had made the hotel aware of this before arrival. However when we got there wasn't anyone available to help with our bags so I struggled up the incline with a trolley while my... more

Thank you for feedback and choosing Mercure Launceston during your recent visit to Tasmania. I was disappointed and surprised to learn that our reception team did not meet your expectations and were less than attentive upon your arrival, as we generally receive excellent feedback on our service, above everything else. We constantly revise and update our staff training and I...

Stayed here for a couple of days & attended a wedding held in the function room. I think for a big name hotel is was very average. We had booked a family room (we have 2 kids) and were given a room with a double & a single. I was about to call reception to say there was a mistake... more

Thank you for your feedback during your visit earlier this year. I thought it would be timely to give you an update on some of the exciting progress happening here at Mercure Launceston. Our function rooms are about to receive a face lift, and a recent focus on our Food and Beverage offerings in Snappers Restaurant, the Tram bar and...

Parking was not a problem because we got to the hotel early. Could be hard to find a spot if you left it too late. Reception very good but unfortunately it was all down hill from there! The bathroom floor, shower recess and sink had hairs in them! We tried to contact housekeeping but they were not answering the phone!... more

Warm welcome at reception. Modern room, clean and well laid out. For late arrivals, room service available until 10 pm. Modern bathroom with toiletries, but no shower cap for the ladies? Good room services guide. Good minibar selection. However, the lack of a bottle opener made opening the beer quite a challenge until the ironing board came to the rescue.... more

I frequently travel to Launceston for work. I've tried most of the other accomodation alternatives - larger hotels, boutique hotels, B&Bs etc. Whilst I wasn't thrilled with the Mercure it offers a reasonable value/quality proposition and is better (at least for me) than the alternatives. more

We stayed with our 2 young children. We arrived quite late and were pleasantly surprised to see a great modern clean room with a queen bed, a single, and a trundle. There isn't central a/c, but the temperature was fine (it is Tasmania, not the tropics!). We awoke to a panoramic view over the city. The hotel is right downtown... more

We arrived in Launceston at 4.45pm in the afternoon after driving over 4 hrs from Coles Bay. It was a very wet and dark afternoon and we were tired. We called in to the Tourism Info office to enquire about accomodation. They quoted the Mercure as offering room only accomodation for $110 a night. So we headed up to the... more
