Stayed in GPH in Budapest for 3 days as city part of holiday in Lake Balaton. The GPH is not a 4 star hotel. The room (Rm 529 Fifth Floor) was very small (a travel inn is 3 times larger) with a shower room, empty mini bar and the 700HUF water as mentioned in other reviews. The toilet dripped all... more

Room small but adequate. Minibar empty but an expensive bottle of water available for sale at 700HUF. Breakfast adequate. The whole hotel is geared to tour groups rather than individuals. On checking in the bar and lobby area was fully occupied by people sleeping, waiting for their coach to depart later in the day. Staff pleasant enough, but no way... more

The hotel is really bad, not four stars at all! Our room was small, dirty, bathroom was terrible - there was no way to take a shower without having all the water on the floor, beacause a clothe curtain just didn't work! Sheets and towels are old, dirty, sometimes with holes! The bed was very uncomfortable. Mini bar was empty,... more

This was the first stop on a backpacking trip. The room was nice and breakfast was good. The location was wonderful. Just outside is the subway and train station. When it was time to leave town there was no worrying about getting a cab, just a short walk across the street to the train! more

Fantastic hotel about a mile from the centre of Budapest. Very clean rooms and helpful staff. Bar prices where good for a hotel (bottle of lager £2.20 to £3.00). Only breakfast supplied but a good "all you can eat & drink" restaurant about ten minutes walk away. Shame Budapest is full of conmen, conwomen and dodgy bars. You can find... more

Excellent location (near the rail station, exactly over the Metro line). Recently rennovated. The room (4th floor) was spacious with no balcony (other rooms have) but with an extra table with 2 chairs. There is a safe, a standard wardrobe, the bathroom has a real tub. The breakfast was typical continental with a hungarian touch. Wireless Internet is available in... more

I have to say that I was not impressed by this hotel. It is surely over-rated. There's nothing fancy about its rooms. Its only strong points: the location is great and the food was terrific. And the restaurant's architecture is truly great - you can see the sun and the sky while having breakfast. :) One more thing, although being... more

My friends & I spent two nights in Golden Park and were most impressed with the hotel. The location suited us as it is next to the underground and the Keleti railway station. The staff were most helpful and our room was spacious and very clean. The food at breakfast was varied and very tasty. All in all an excelent... more

4 star hotel - definately not. Rooms were exceptionally small, the staff were not at all helpful, the bar closed at 11pm with no other bars nearby, lots of students staying in the hotel. Have stayed in better hostels! more
