I would recommend the Albert to all ages, the location is excellent, an easy walk to the Old Town and virtually next to the Art nouveau district which is a must see if you are into architecture. The rooms are not the biggest but there is everything you need as well as free wifi throughout the hotel. I agree with... more
Hotel is just a short pleasant 10 minute walk through a park from Riga old town. I was there on a Monday so itwas reasonably quiet. The hotel is modern and clean. Quite small rooms with a bathroom (no bathtub), clothes hanging space, TV (BBC World not BBC News), desk, minibar, a/c but no safe and no hot drink facilities.... more
We stayed here early December 2007, we booked this hotel because of the reviews on this website. Although this hotel is already very good value we got a lot better deal by trawling the Internet than we would have got from the links on here or from the hotel direct (Always shop around!) The hotel lived up to its reputation... more
This review is mostly on Riga itself, I am just back, and am trying everything I can to stop any british person going there again, never been treated so bad in my life. The actual hotel is really nice, but the staff have a terrible attitude, total contempt for you. If you are thinking of going to riga for a... more
Thank you very much for the comments on our hotel. Actually, we have to correct some information; it is not the city of Riga, which is making stay of "stag parties" here as hell, but the other way around. Our hotel does not fine anybody without a reason. But if someone, is making his needs in the middle of the...
just back from the albert hotel ... stayed for a 3 night weekend with my girlfried and i can reccommend it 100% . the first impression is one of awe as the entrance lobby is fantastically decorated with marble and beatiful lighting, the staff speak perfect english and rooms are warm and cosy with a trendy lcd telly including BBC... more
We stayed in Riga for 2 nights on a recent trip to Europe. As other guests have mentioned we requested a non smoking room 3 months before we arrived and the room we had stunk of smoke, when we asked if we could possibly get another room, we were told "no". The room itself was large and clean but as... more
Dear traveller, we are very sorry for the troubles you experienced by check in to our hotel and with not a nice attitude of some of our staf. We are very thankfull for your feedback and i can ensure you that we will do our best to avoid such a case in the future.
The Albert is a luxurious hotel which gives great access to all Riga has to offer. Standard size rooms are clean, enough space for two people and contained a nice LCD tv, luxury decor, *extremely* comofortable mattress on the big bed. Bar on the top floor oozes class, doesnt get too busy and offers exceptional views over the city. Bar... more
RIga is a quite pricy city, and therefore I would say that the Albert Hotel is really good value for your money. The rooms are clean and fresh, but it's true that they lack a shower curtain. Luckily the bathrooms are equipped with floor heating, so the floor dries up quite quickly. If you would like to pamper yourself with... more
I stayed at the Albert hotel for the Easter weekend and it was a great place to stay. The breakfast was excellent and you could go between 7am-11am. The rooms were modern and clean and the Star bar on the 11th floor did a great range of cocktails. It was only a 10 minute walk to the centre where there... more
