I stayed a couple of nights in Sept 06. When I got there, at 5pm, the IT system had just broken down and I could not check in; well, ok... it happens. So I left my baggage there and spent the rest of the evening in Washington downtown. When I came back to the hotel (about 10pm), the computers were... more

I stayed overnight at the Travelodge Gateway. The room itself was fine but this hotel is way off the beaten path. Aside from the hourly shuttle service to Union Station, its a long cab ride to anywhere so if you are not planning to bring your car, DO NOT stay here. Also, this hotel is in a seedy part of... more

If you talk to the Manger, Bob, you will get results with any complaints --- older place, clean, do not ask for an extra towel from anyone but "Bob" or you will get a wash cloth to dry your hair. Enjoy the breakfast --everybody there did. more

We were looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable place to stay in Washington D.C. This hotel fit all of those criteria - well-located, clean and comfortable, and reasonably priced. What makes this hotel out of the ordinary is the Manager. He is very knowledgable about the Washington D.C. area, and the best ways of getting around. He will go out... more

You get what you pay for. It's one of the cheapest hotels in the DC area, and on the edge of a bad section of town. KFC/Pizza Hut, Wendys, Sonic, and McDonald's close by. The chinese restaurant attached to the hotel is the best we've ever had. Dinner prices are a little high, but it's DC. The hotel offers free... more

During the last week of July I had to attend a training workshop in DC. My son and I stayed at the Travelodge Gateway on Bladenburg Road. Before we got there we looked at all the comments regarding the hotel. We were really frightened to go there and started looking for other hotels on the way there. What a surprise... more

I booked this hotel through a very poplular hotel website.. The room was filthy - mold in bathroom, no heat in room, cigarette burns on all furniture, and it was so smelly. Advertised as walking distance to downtown, NOT! It is locted in a questionable area, I did not feel safe.. I was approached numerous times by transients in parking... more

This has got to be the worst hotel ever! First of all it's about 1/2 block away from the really bad area of town. The rooms are filthy and not safe at all. The housekeeper let someone in that said it was his room and then he STOLE EVERYTHING! After a bit of a battle we did get the hotel... more

We visited this hotel on the July 4th. weekend of 2005. I should have known that something was wrong when they were not full by Friday the 1st. When we got into DC about 10:00 PM I called to get directions to the hotel. The lady on the phone must have been from out of town because she had no... more
