This hotel is indeed in a quiet location. I haven't heard a single care drive by and my room is on the street. The deal here is that the place is nothing special but it is clean. The elevator is very small and creeks along, so if you are afraid of tight spaces that might me a concern. The suites... more

We stayed here June 3-5, 2008 because we had business at GW. Previously, we had stayed at the Doubletree across the street, but in the future, I would choose this hotel over the Doubletree. The hotel is located in a residential area on the edge of GW's campus. Our room was on the 2nd floor and faced 25th St. and... more

The hotel is in a great location. It is 2 blocks away from the Foggy Bottom metro station, 15 minute walk to Georgetown, and 15 minute walk to the Lincoln Memorial. The hotel is a true 3 star hotel, and worth it's price. A good restaurant that is walking distance is Meiwah Restaurant, (202/833-2888) at the cornor of M St.... more

My husband and I spent seven days in D.C. as tourists. We wanted to stay near a metro station; we wanted a king-size bed; we wanted to space to spread out after a day fighting sightseeing middle-schoolers; if breakfast wasn't included, we wanted a kitchen setting to prepare it ourselves. And we wanted a reasonable price. After three days of... more

I stayed here for an in-town getaway weekend with my boyfriend and I was very happy with the hotel. The room was a suite and was very big, it even had a kitchen. I really liked the view from our room - we were facing Georgetown and were on the 6th floor. We went to Georgetown for dinner while we... more

Going to the opera... and also a DC downtown club this is the best location. You may drive to and from this location however, the metro is very close also. We checked out of the hotel but were allowed to park for the afternoon-after the opera was over for $11.00. Parking at the Kennedy Certer was $16.00. We were already... more

Very thin walls so that you can hear everything going on the room next to you, above you, and outside....didn't get a wink of sleep. My room didn't even have soap - neither in the shower or the bathroom. For breakfast, the only menu item the restaurant had was the oatmeal and it was only 8 in the morning. The... more

After viewing some less than positive reviews and realizing the GWU Inn catered to the university population, I did not expect much. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. The room was not luxurious but certainly spacious, comfortable and clean (had a suite). The bed was comfortable (would have been better if the bedding was down, not nylon foam-based) AC was quiet... more

The hotel itself was nothing to write home about, but it is in a fantastic area of DC (Foggy Bottom area, about a mile from Dupont Circle). Hotel was clean and average; no special perks or amenities, but it provided for a comfortable stay. more

The GWU Inn bills itself as a boutique hotel. I've stayed in three boutique hotels in DC - Hotel Madera, River Inn, and Hotel Rouge. The GWU Inn is NOTHING like any of these three. Everything about it is cheaper (except the price). The bathroom fixtures are cheap, the bathtub/shower had mold on the ceiling, the chair/desk combo was like... more
