My daughters and I just returned from a two-night stay at the JW Marriott, and I would call it a perfect getaway if not for our lumpy beds. The hotel's location was absolutely perfect for seeing the White House, Washington Monument, Smithsonian museums, etc. The hotel's staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel's restaurants were a bit pricey, but... more
I stayed at the JW Marriott when I was in DC for a conference. I found the hotel to have a wonderful staff, plush facilities, cool elevators (I loved that their touchpad system diminished the amount of time waiting for an elevator or stopping at other floors!), and great location. If I had to pick two things that were not... more
I used priceline and was lucky enough to get the JW Marriott. There is always a concern about the room you might get when you use priceline for 4* hotels, but this was certainly an exception to this. When we arrived, we got a room and after I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary, the individual checking us in upgraded... more
I spent a night here in May 2008 with my two sons using Rewards points. In general, the hotel is very nice - the decor is beautiful and the location is convenient to the Metro and to many DC tourist attractions. Unfortunately, I did not receive the kind of outstanding customer service that others have raved about here. Perhaps it... more
The staff at the JW Marriott Hotel was very nice. We (my husband, 2 sons --ages 19 months and 7 years old--, and I) booked our trip online from the hotel's website. I indicated that it would be nice if we were upgraded to a room with a view and that I needed a crib. When we checked into the... more
The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating with us. Valet parking was $35 a day. Room was clean and bright with a very comfortable bed. Food options were a little limited - two restaurants and the Starbucks in the lobby. Walking distance to many of the sights - White House, Wash. Memorial, National Mall, Smithsonian. All within 10-15 minute walk.... more
Enjoyed a short break in Washington - first time I'd visited the city but Mr AG had been several times. Chose the hotel primarily on star rating and location - literally 5 min walk to the White House. Airy large hotel - friendly staff - nice rooms - we had one looking over the parkland by the white house. Geared... more
Highly recommended if you: - are a family with children. Stick with the Stay For Breakfast plan but get there early enough so you don't have to wait (15 mins or so). - are in need of a hotel near the National Mall and White House. - want a view of Penn Ave and the monuments. - want easy access... more
We just returned from a five night stay at the JW for a vacation with our son, his wife, and our eleven year old granddaughter. We were given adjoining rooms and on a higher floor as requested with a view of the Washington Monument. I took a clue from a reviewer's tip and they were very accommodating. Our family enjoyed... more
