Had a great stay here. Was in town on business and needed something close to Dupont Circle. Staff was very friendly. Room was humongous and, as requested had exercise equipment in it. Complimentary Starbucks coffee in the am, and wine in the evening (though I didn't make it back early enough for this on most nights). Free high speed internet... more

Hello and Good Day! Thank you for your kind comments about the hotel. It is much appreciated. I am glad that you enjoyed your spacious room and the exercise equipment in it. These rooms are designed with business travelers like you in mind. I understand your feelings about the lighting in the room and the mirror. These design challenges should...

DuPont Circle is the place to be - close to the metro and in a semi-residential, therefore quiet neighborhood. We were offered a large corner room (804) with 2 Queen beds and a balconey - handy for checking the weather each day before venturing out. Using AAA membership we got the price down from $340 to $199. My advice would... more

This is a fantastic place to stay for a weekend in DC! Check their website for special prices. This was our second stay at this hotel. One of the things I like about it is the non-standard room layout - certainly not a cookie-cutter hotel room! Our room on the 8th floor had a small foyer with a closet (and... more

The Madera does not really qualify as a three-star hotel. Several oversights bring this one down, including the lack of any kind of lounge. While I appreciate the economy of space a city forces upon a building, I have never seen a 3-star hotel that did not have some sort of lounge or parlor. The closest thing that qualified was... more

We had a great stay with the Madera. We have never felt so welcome at a chain hotel, usually you need to stay at a bed and breakfast to get this type of comfort and welcome. We now only want to stay at Kimpton Hotels (Madera's parent company) when ever we can. We went to DC for a couples weekend... more

I came to D.C. for business and chose this hotel primarily because of its proximity to my meeting but also because of the positive reviews on this website and because it was a Kimpton. I have had positive experiences with other Kimpton hotels, so was I was expecting good things. I was a bit worried when I walked in the... more

Very comfy rooms and beds. Great front desk staff. Rooms were very clean. Recycling in the rooms is a plus! Great location if you want to stay a bit "off the beaten path." Georgetown isn't too far away and very close to the Red Line Metro. Only thing is, no breakfast options other than expensive room service ($18 for scrambled... more

Our stay at the Hotel Madera was very nice. The front desk was run very professionaly, and offered a complimentary glass of wine once a day. The room's bathroom was very small, but the sink was outside the bathroom. This made it easy for one person to use the shower while the other is using the sink/mirror to get ready.... more

Fun and modern decor, gigantic rooms, FREE INTERNET, fun neighborhood, very very close to METRO station!!! would definitely stay there again. one complaint, my boyfriend and I got bitten by something (i think it was a spider or mosquitos?) after our first night there. We both had 4 or 5 bites all over our arms and legs. I complained and... more

I spent 3 nights at the Madera after spending 1 night at the Crowne Plaza Hamilton downtown on my company's bill. I felt twice as comfortable at the Madera at 1/3 the price (booked thru Hotwire). Loved the neighborhood and convenient access to the Metro. Felt totally safe as a single gal traveling alone. I was originally assigned to a... more
