First, thanks to Trip Advisor for providing these forums. I had an “Independence Room” on the 9th floor, 917 to be exact. I got a very good rate on a travel web site and paid $119. Our room, designated "deluxe" on our reservation, was older, very small, and quite rundown and shabby, with a noisy heater and toilet that ran, awakening us often through the night. The rooms were older and quite rundown. There is little insulation so you hear all of your neighbors. The bathroom smelled of urine. more

We recently spent a weekend at the Latham at the behest of some friends we were meeting there. We found the reception staff very friendly and accommodating, as well as the concierge and porters.
