Hotel is an old building in need of some TLC but the staff were fine and helpful, the reception was a bit untidy behind the desks and needed tidying up. The room was small but not a problem as we only wanted to sleep in it yes the bathrooms are small but were very clean and there was always plenty... more

First, thanks to Trip Advisor for providing these forums. I had an “Independence Room” on the 9th floor, 917 to be exact. I got a very good rate on a travel web site and paid $119. I found the room comfy and clean. The bathroom was a little on the small side but fixtures and tiling were in good condition.... more

We were apprehensive after reading all the negative comments here. But... this is what we experienced. Stayed 4 nights. The service was average for valet and front desk, but no complaints. The room had two doubles, and was tight, BUT it was very nice. Except for a crack in the lamp shade, everything was perfect. Clean, excellent quality and NO... more

Our room, designated "deluxe" on our reservation, was older, very small, and quite rundown and shabby, with a noisy heater and toilet that ran, awakening us often through the night. There was NOTHING deluxe about the room. The common areas are lovely - very elegant and spacious, and the staff were welcoming and friendly The location is fantastic - wonderful... more

The rooms were older and quite rundown. There is little insulation so you hear all of your neighbors. The bathroom smelled of urine. more

We were a little skeptical when we read the reviews for this hotel but they appear to be the reviews for a different place. Sure the hotel is a boutique hotel and that means small, quaint, and classy. That is what you get. The hotel staff was great, the rooms were clean and nice and you were right in the... more

We recently spent a weekend at the Latham at the behest of some friends we were meeting there. We found the reception staff very friendly and accommodating, as well as the concierge and porters. They were all young and eager to please. The hotel itself, though, leaves a lot to be desired. The web site makes this look like an... more

*LOCATION: Perfect, could not been better (in Georgetown, the best area in DC, lots of shops/restaurant just outside the hotel). 10 min walk to nearest tubestation, but taxis just outside the hotel/street any time of the day/night. Very safe area. *STAFF: Friendly *ROOM: Small but very beautiful interior/classic and elegant hotel. Great king size bed. 60 Tv channels. But no... more

The room was okay but getting shabby. The upholstery was starting to fray . I thought everything looked clean but decided it must not be great when I saw a mouse. After a good bit of delay and poor service, I did get moved to a different room. I just spoke with someone else who stayed at the Latham and... more

I stayed at the Latham for 2 nights at the end of September. The location in Georgetown was good, and central. And the room itself was of a reasonable size. That is where the positive comments end. I found the staff indifferent at best, like they just really didn't enjoy their job. They often communicated with you without looking at... more
