This is what you get at the Grand Californian: 1) a really lovely lobby (free to anyone); 2) an overpriced breakfast (open to anyone); 3) an average hotel room at 4 times the price of a comparable room. I was stunned at the mediocrity of the room. Very boring. The only advantage was the proximity to the parks, since we... more

My family stayed at the Grand from 5/3-5/7. Our flight landed about 8:50am, we got the the resort around 11:00 room was not ready until 3:00pm(no rooms are available until 3:00 pm). The resort is beautiful and it is literally walking distance to the DisneyLand and Adventure Park.. The resort is also attached to Downtown Disney. The restaurants are also... more

I'm a bit of a Disney nut so for my anniversary my husband takes me to Disneyland for the weekend. Check-in was great, they were able to honor our requests without a fuss. I did have to return to the front desk to pick up our vacation planning itinerary and premium seating tickets which she forgot to give me but... more

After talking to my agent at Small World Adventures (who I would highly recommend), we booked at the Grand Californian. As I was 8 months pregnant, we wanted something close by in case I had to waddle back to the hotel myself. The hotel was very nice, clean, and had a lot of nice touches. Nice cosmetics in the bathrooms... more

As a big fan of WDW in Florida, our family decided to stop here for a few days during an extended vacation touring the Southwest National Parks. I was expecting an experience similar to our vacation at the Wilderness Lodge. However, "Disney Magic" seems to have a different meaning on the other side of the country. Yes, the hotel is... more

Our three-day stay was part of a week-long celebration for my sister's 50th birthday. I picked her up in Sacramento (she lives near Atlantic City) and we arrived at the Grand Californian after two days in Santa Barbara at the Harbor View Inn. (HIghly recommended!) Compared to those accommodations the Grand was a disappointment--twice the price and not as nice.... more

We recently spent 5 nights at the Grand Californian; booked there through my husband's conference. We are Disneyworld veterans, with our favorite WDW hotel being the Beach Club. I found this hotel comparable in terms of comfort and amenities. Our room was in the wing over Downtown Disney but was quite far from the elevator. Our balcony faced a quiet... more

We just returned from a three night stay at the Grand Californian. While I can say it is a beautiful hotel, I can't say I received $350+ (per night) worth of service. Location, location, location. That's what you are really paying for - the privilege to not have to walk too far. We stayed during our kids' spring break so... more

Gorgeous details in the decoration and construction of this hotel. Check in process was simple and quick, room was ready immediately. I advise calling 2 days prior to your arrival-that is when they assign rooms-that way you can make sure your room choice is fulfilled before you are standing at the front desk. Our room overlooked CA, was quiet and... more

Having read some dire reviews I agonised about this booking, but as I'm partially disabled and needed to be close to the parks, I went for it. And booked the concierge floor. Good, but expensive, decision on balance. The positives: - The location. Can't be beat. This alone made the price worth it. - The concierge level. Very expensive and... more
