When our credit card got turned off for being out of the country did the hotel approach us? Call the bank? Ask for cash? Nope - they called the police who showed up and said we were known drug dealers (wouldn't we be in a nicer hotel if we were drug dealers?) and turned our room upside down. Luckily a... more

The Spindrift Hotel is a good budget place to stay in San Pedro. It's only steps away from the ferry landing and right in town. It's on the beach with some boats anchored in the water. Spindrift staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is clean. They have the Chicken Drop and entertainment every Wednesday evening - good fun.... more

As is almost always true, with a stay at the spindrift you get exactly what you pay for. I paid about $50US per night which may be the cheapest rate you would ever find for beachside lodging. Rooms are simple, bathrooms are small, but everything is clean and for the most part acceptable. No TV or internet, but if you... more
