As a traveler who enjoys the unconventional, this was a fantastic choice. The lagoon was beautiful, the staff was wonderful-(ask siggy for a monkey la la when you get to the bar) they couldnt have been more accomodating. The rooms were rustic but super comfortable, it was heaven not to have a T.V. in the room. I will cherish the... more

I totally disagree with the reviews from the NY divers. My husband and I just returned from a weeks stay at the Inn of Last Resort and had the greatest time ever. We were personally greeted at the airport by Captain Ed. Upon arriving at the resort, he takes us to the bar where we share a relaxing island drink... more

I was on the same NYC dive trip as the two previous posts. Just to emphasize the cavalier nature of this operation, there was no emergency oxygen on the boat I was on - nor any indication of any medical equipment on board. I assume that was also the case on the other resort boat. Also no life jackets "...put... more

I just returned after a week-long stay at the Inn of Last Resort with 20 other members of a New York City-based dive club. While I've often used TripAdvisor to seek out information about travel, I've never been sufficiently motivated to write my own review -- until now. After experiencing the ILR's dive operation for the past week, I felt... more

As a resort specializing in diving - the condition of the dive boats was horrific - having issues with both boats on the first day, and on our second day having to have one boat towed by another, (which then itself started to sink) did not inspire confidence in the operation. The boats were falling to pieces, and badly maintained.... more

Our group of about 30 dive club members decided sight unseen to try The Inn of Last Resort on the reputation of the owners Donna and Andy, who we had been acquanted with at various dive shows. Having not been there before, we were a bit aprehensive. Reading most reviews on the resort was good expecially with their many repeated... more

My son and I were at the Inn in late July. My wife and I will be returning the first week in October. As this is primarly a "Dive Resort", the dive staff and operation were great. 3 boat dives a day and tanks on the deck of the lagoon for shore dives. Most of the dives were just a... more

Be advised the Inn of Last Resort in Roatan is being sold. They are still in the process of trying to figure out what will happen there; so it's really undecided if it will remain a dive resort. The entire place may be l;eveled and a large marina put into the harbor area. The employee morale is very low at... more

My husband and I just got back from our fourth visit to the Inn of Last Resort. We love the 'dive, eat, sleep and relax' routine here. It is quiet and small enough to get personal attention from the staff and owners. We have gotten to know Donna and Andy, the owners, over our visits and found them to be... more

I spent two weeks at the Last Resort in February. The first with a group of 15 and the second week on my own. This is a quite, out of the way place. Simple and warm. The owners (Donna and Andy), along with the staff, make you feel right and home and very, very welcomed. We took the room and... more
