Spectacularly beautiful riad. When you walk into the main lobby you feel like you are on an Arabian nights movie set. You could not ask for a more lovely setting. The staff, especially Omar, are fantastic and will do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable. It is on a quiet street in the medina but only a 10-12... more

Beautiful riad that has everything wonderful on the inside. I had a two story suite with a small fireplace in the sitting room and the bedroom upstairs. The courtyard was both beautiful and comfortable, with a transparent roof covering it. I wa picked up at the train station, immediately offered mint tea and some cookies when I arrived, and the... more

What a beautiful riad, we arrived after a 6 hour unexplained delay from hopeless Air Moroc, but when we walked through the humble door of the Al Bartal we were blown away by the most stunningly beautiful and romantic atmosphere. Candles glowing everywhere plants cascading from the balconies objects of art dotted throughout the riad and not forgetting the delightful... more

Despite having read about this gem of a riad nothing could have prepared us from walking in off the street into this beautiful oasis of calm and tranquility. This traditional riad has been lovingly decorated and is the perfect escape from the manic depths of the medina. The French owners were incredibly helpful and always on hand. Our suite was... more

You can not prepare for the experience of walking into this riad. We entered the courtyard in this riad and just stood there with our mouths open. From the staff to the decor to the meals to the rooftop oasis this is an amazing place! The rooms will have you taking pictures just so you can accurately capture the exquisite... more

Nothing could have been better than staying at this lovely rial were every detail has been taken care of exquisitly. The traditional morrocan breakfast and dinner are beyond delicious and the service, always accompained with soothemusic, is great. We stayied at Sepharine's room and couldn't believe the good taste in decoration and harmony of how every single space is displayied... more

WOW is what you say when you step inside, look up and down and then arrive back on earth. The tile work and wood work is second to none, the place is like a palace. The roof terrace is perfect, massive and with beds to sleep the heat off in the arvo under a tent .Perfect for drinks at night... more

My husband and I arrived in Fes in the evening to be picked up and taken to Riad Al Bartal. We walked inside the beautiful riad which was lit by candlelight making it look quite magical. As our first night in Morocco we were quite impressed and excited. We planned ahead to eat in the riad the first night and... more

I recently stayed in this riad and it was probably the best riad I have stayed in, in Fes. (I stayed in 3 riads during my holiday in Fes). The riad was difficult to find but once we found it (after an hour!) , the doorman brought us tea and biscuits which was a lovely touch. The suite we had... more

While the Riad is lovely, I had an awful experience there towards the end of my stay that more than obliterated any positive feelings I had toward the place. To be fair, both the common spaces and my room were beautiful. One of the 2 French couples that own the riad was gracious and welcoming. Unfortunately the other couple-owners were... more

We were really surprised about the complain in March 07 .We never received in our riad a single lady and never had complains or surbookings in March. To be honest , we made a surbooking in January 07 for one night , to 2 american ladies.( see beautiful riad....ugly owners). We offer them a night in a more luxuary riad...
