The entrance to the Hotel is really impressive and the feeling of granduer and opulence is great. However, this is really spoilt by the 'very tired' state of the bedrooms and bathrooms. The hotel and its grounds are beautiful and we were very impressed with the standard of our room but thats where it ends. Service in the hotel restaurants and breakfast was slow, we werent part of the particular conference on that week so were virtual second class citizens. This could be such a fabulous hotel...but was not impressed. more

I stayed here with a large group for a business meeting. The gardens were pretty, but food and accomodation very average. The downside of the stay was that a number of our group had valuables stolen from the rooms (cameras, mp3 players etc). I stayed there for a conference. This is a very big hotel, so the room standard varies as the rooms get renovated one by one. My room was large (two queen size beds), the bedroom/salon much newer than the run-down bathroom and toilet.
