As has become a habit, my wife and I researched the options in Marrakech through TripAdvisor. Having seen the fantastic reviews for Altair we headed off with high expectations for our four night stay and were to a large degree disappointed. Firstly, I should say Marrakech itself is an incredible experience and one I would recommend to anyone, although I'd... more
My daughter and I stayed at the Riad Altair for 3 nights this May. It was our first stay in Marrakech and I cannot recommend the Altair highly enough. Except for a delay with our airport pick-up everything was perfect. Khalid, Mohammed and Jammal made us feel very welcome. They were very helpful giving advice on where to go and... more
Stayed at the Riad for six nights and couldn't fault a thing. Nothing was too much trouble for Khalid, Jammal and Mohamed. Really nice guys and good fun. Breakfast was quite substantial and served from 7.30 to 11.30 so no need to rush! Le Marrakechi restaurant is worth a visit but best value meal out was at the Jacaranda in... more
We had a fantastic weekend at the Riad Altair where the service was excellent and a lot of attention was paid to detail. I booked the hotel through octopustravel which classes it as a 4* property. I give it a 4*+. I have been to a number of 5* properties which were nowhere near as well kept as the Altair.... more
This is a great riad , we had a amazing stay , it had a beautifully decorated room and a lovely roof terrace for eating and sunbathing and best of all a plunge pool for cooling down after a hectic trip around the nearby souks , would definately recommend this place as it also has some great nearby restaurants more
I stayed at Riad Altair for 8 days in Oct 2007. The Riad is located in the north part of the medina in a quiet neighborhood. It's within walking distance of the souks, Djemaa el Fna and Guéliz. The Riad itself has a very warm and homely feel. Nicely furnished throughout with mostly traditional Moroccan furniture. The bedrooms are bright... more
We chose this Riad on mainly due to the glowing reviews it received on this website. We were not disappointed. The Riad is in a perfect location about 20 mins walk from the main square. It also happens to be next to some of the best restaurants in Marrakech. The best was Dar Moho just 5 mins walk away. The... more
Stayed here for 4 nights in July 2007, this Riad was fantastic! the house itself is beautifully decorated, my room was beatifully dcorated and with the air conditioning priovided a cool, calm oasis after walking around the streets outside. the bathroom had character, not run down at all, the huge shower would have been big enough for two! i was... more
We stayed at the Riad Altair over Easter and we absolutely loved it. The Riad has about 6 rooms which surround a beautiful courtyard. There is a sunbathing area on the roof which gives amazing views of Marrakesh. Breakfast is provided in the cost which is fabulous and more than you can possibly eat. You can have dinner at the... more
