In early April I attended a large international conference of about 400 people sponsored by the EU at White Sands Resort and Conference centre. The conference was very well organised by the hotel. White Sands is a fairly basic hotel, but does not have a real atmosphere. It could be a good hotel, but solid hardware is no guarantee for satisfied guests. Some of the staff are quite good and helpful, but many are hopeless (trainees in restaurant without good capable supervision).
