The hotel huts reminded me of an Ewok village, they were warm, cosy, clean and very well appointed (apart from the missing umbrella in the cupboard). I enjoyed staying at the Serena Seronera Lodge. The lodge is actually a main reception and restaurant area surrounded by a few dozen small buildings each with 4 guest-rooms in them. The Serena has a great lodge ambience and safari style, and the public areas, especially the bar and dining room, are cozy and inviting--it is a great place to enjoy a post-game drive drink and watch the sun set over the Serengeti. Yep, tired is probably about the best description. Set in a wonderful landscape and surrounded by great wildlife the Serena needs a significant facelift. I guess the place was built in the 80s and it has not had much love and attention since then.
