I visited this guest house by my own choice & the reviews that were posted (2005 / 2006). Upon arrival I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay. It is quiet, clean and safe. The location is perfect -- in a Tibetan neighborhood just a couple of blocks from the Stupa. Staying at the guest house gives you an opportunity to visit the Stupa at dusk when the neighborhood comes alive, after the tourist buses have gone back to Katmandu. The... more

Excellent service! Right next door to a monestary, a great restaurant just next door, laundry service too! Clean rooms with a great view of the city in the upper floors. I enjoyed my stay there very much and would recommend the Happy Valley at any time. more

Happy Valley Guest House is a great place to stay in Kathmandu - in the Tibetan area of that sprawling city. We have stayed twice at this up-scale guest house and highly recommend it.
