The Hotel Courtyard was a great find on Trip Advisor. We stayed for two weeks in April 08, sampling the great hospitality of the family run hotel, which owned by a vibrant Nepalese guy (Pujan) who was educated in America and has returned to the family business with his wife (Michelle) from Seattle. A great couple whose only aim in... more

I was not going to stay in Kathmandu, but I missed my flight to Paro, so I went to Thamel to find a room to stay one night. After being in various hotels, I arrived the Courtyard. I couldn't believe such a peaceful place in the middle of Thamel. Michelle and Pujan (the owners) finally made up one room for... more

We used Hotel Courtyard as our base for our week in Nepal and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel completely at home by Pujan and Michelle. They couldnt have done more for us and made this part of our honeymoon very special. We will be returning to Nepal as we fell in love with the country... more

It was very nice and comfortable hotel. My wife and I have ever visited Kathmandu before, and liked very much. So, we decided to bring our both mother to come with us this time. Frankly, my previous experience gave us no expectation on hotels especially around Thamel area until we found Courtyard. We let our both mother to stay at... more

I stayed at the Courtyard, off and on, for a total of about 10 days. My abiding memory of the place will be the owners - Pujon and his wife Michelle - who go out of their way - literally!! - to get to know each guest and cater to his/her needs, if this means getting their personal barber sent... more

I heard about this hotel whilst I was staying in Kathmandu and it took some time to find! However I am so glad I persevered - it was worth it. Once I found it I moved in right away. My room boasted a four poster bed and a view over the courtyard. As per a previous report, there is plenty... more

On my last visit to Kathmandu I discovered the Courtyard (thanks to a listing in Lonely Planet) which made my stay in that crazy city a real pleasure. I have travelled to Nepal four times now, and have tried a few 3 to 5 star hotels. As anyone who has visited Kathmandu can attest, most '5 star' hotels are really... more

this is really hotel to stay, if you want to be in the center of Kathmandu and in the same time, enjoy serenity, piece and comfort. its not just about boutique style rooms, but more about fun evenings, what i used to have at courtyard bar - library. it is always full with great people from all over the word.... more

Peace and quiet is a rare commodity in the Thamel but Hotel Courtyard manages to achieve it. In fact the only thing to break the peace here is the noisy dawn chorus from the city's crows. Set back off one of the smaller streets in the north of the Thamel, you get the best of both worlds, to be right... more

Every year I bring a group of Malaysian to Nepal for tour, and I like to try out different hotels. This Spring I was very lucky to have discovered COURTYARD ! They have nice, spacious garden which let us enjoy the conveniences of staying in Thamel, yet don't feel like we are part of the busy noisy Thamel when we... more
