Stayed a total of 4 nights before and after a short trek. We had 1 night in an upstairs delux room which was only average. Room was a bit small and shower flooded the small bathroom. The second stay in a chalet was far better, the room was bigger and better and the bathroom with walk in shower was great.... more

The Fishtail lodge has a fabulous setting across the river so you approach via a manned pontoon or dugout canoe (also manned, thank goodness!) The hotel although classed as luxurious doesnt quite match Western standards, it is very basic and really could do with an overhaul, kind of 70's style furniture. The rooms however had all the basics including very... more

I have just come back from Nepal and the 3 days i spent at Fishtail lodge were clearly the highlight. I had read about damp smelling rooms etc so payed the little bit extra for a deluxe room and being upstairs had an awesome view. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful, peaceful location, the gardens are immaculate and the... more

Best stay for a week. Accomodation is great, food was free (for out trip), and the service was quick, unobstrusive. Flooring is not heated. The cottages are small, the bathrooms also small, but beautiful. Toiletries are good. Great for a honeymoon. more

We were quiet disappointed after reading all the excellent reviews. The location is great and the little boat trip to the hotel is cute but our room was really disappointing. shabby, clammy and waiting for renovation. the beds looked like already used and the bathroom - you tried to shorten the time inside. It would be ok if it's much... more

The Fishtail's biggest draw is its setting which definately lived up to the blurb despite the monsoon weather. Crossing the Lake on a hand pulled raft to get there gives a nice sense of privacy and an exclusive feel. The views of the mountains wern't in evidence but in the monsoon season we didn't expect them. The food and service... more
