5 reasons you'd love the Grand Hyatt Taipei: 1. Accommodating staff. 2. Spacious rooms. 3. Great Chinese food. 4. Right beside Taipei 101 (tallest building, shopping centre, food court, supermarket) 5. 10 minute stroll to Eslite Bookstore (24 hour bookstore) more

Just came back from a 4 day trip in Taipei. Booked Grand Hyatt thru my cousin in Taiwan as the hotel has a special promotion program with American Express credit card issued in Taiwan. Rate is US$173 including one extra bed and three breakfasts each day. Room is large and dont feel cramped even there is a extra bed there.... more

Location was very good. Room was clean and well furnished though not particularly large. Breakfast buffet offered a nice selection of Asian and western foods, however, each morning the wait staff would interrupt conversations (or full mouths) to demand that guests provide their name and room number right now. This annoying policy continued daily leading me to assume that the... more

I was pleased to find out this hotel was on my corporate approved list. I had stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. I had taken the hi speed rail from Kaohsiung and arrived at 1:30pm. The front desk checked me in and allowed me to go to my room. The room was clean and not particularyly huge. The... more

I've stayed at several Grand Hyatt hotels across the world and this one does not stack up against the others. The lobby is impressive and the overall service is good, but the rooms leave much to be desired. I stayed on the "executive" floor, so I can't imagine what the other rooms are like. The bathroom was cramped, tiny vanity... more

We almost always stay here when we visit Taipei. Love the location - close to the city hall, warner brother's village, 101, and new york new york shopping center. Clean rooms, good service. Good continental breakfast. more

You know you're in a Chinese-owned 5* hotel when an abundance of marble and granite is randomly peppered with steel, brass and gold plated fixtures. That's at least the first impression you get when entering the opulent lobby, although it's a matter of personal taste and it is certainly not mine. The hotel is located in the city center, right... more

Just returned from a 2 night stay here and whilst the room itself was ok but not 5* the bathroom was a disgrace and definitely needs updating. Mould, cracked tiles, leaking taps and showerhead. more

We noticed that the lights were not working properly in our room the moment we walked in. We asked for a room change immediately but front desk said they would fix the problem while we were out. This was not done and the whole night the lights were switching on and off by themselves and trips to the bathroom were... more

This used to be the gold standard for business travelers. Not so much anymore... 1) Internet connection is horrid. During a semi-busy time of the year it was slower than dial up and was $20 for 24 hours- ridiculous 2) The gym is now in a series of connected, but previously guest rooms. No ventilation and limited equipment. 3) Spacing... more
