I had been traveling in SE Asia(Nepal,Lao) for almost six weeks when I arrived in Chiang Mai.Granted,my expectations were not high after the humble lodgings during the past weeks but I've been fortunate enough to have traveled A LOT all over the world. The Tamarind Village was pure paradise....absolutely what a great hotel should be.The surroundings are perfect...from the handmade tableware... more

Have just returned from 2 weeks in Thailand, of which I spent 3 nights at the Tamarind Village. It is a beautiful tranquild hotel, which really has an effect on you in winding down. When I first arrived I assumed that there would be more to the hotel than there is, but there isnt! It purely consists of a pool,... more

We were initially supposed to stay 2 nights at the Tamarind Village, but from the moment we arrived we were flabbergasted with the extremely friendly and helpful hotel staff, (speaking perfectly English), the spotless Thai hotel rooms with small little details making you feel appreciated as a special quest, the quietness, the peacefullness. Although the room rate is not quite... more

We stayed here after two nights at the Baan Rai Lanna hotel, outside of Chiang Mai- what a difference! It was really like night and day and we were so relieved to check-in to the Tamarind Village. The service was smooth and efficient, including the receptionist that escorted us to the room and pointed out some of the hotel features... more

We stayed at Tamarind Village in Chiang Mai Thailand for 2 nights last week. It was a near perfect stay. Our room was comfortable, quiet, cool and simply decorated in typical Thai style. The bathroom was tasteful with excellent soaps etc and we were supplied with beautiful traditional style robes. Breakfast consisted of western and Thai foods - almost everything... more

I think it is important to keep all these reviews in perspective. We stayed at the Tamarind and paid a massive amount ~ 200USD. For this price, I expected better. Under the guise of "boutique hotel", the rooms are basic and austere. The fixtures, mainly, came off. The ladder that holds towels fell on me. The sink tap cover came... more

We staid 3 nights at Tamarind Village. It's perfectly located, very quiet, Standard room was nice, service was excellent, restaurant served great food. Had a massage at their SPA. I would definitly go back and I strongly recommand this hotel. I just hope they won't increase their rates, as they are in my opinion in the high range for this... more

I stayed at Tamarind Village in Chiang Mai Thailand for 4 nights last week. Overall it was a lovely hotel. My party was greeted in their open air reception area by being offered a seat on their comfy couches, a cold drink and icy cold washclothes to refresh ourselves with. It was a perfect start to the stay! The hotel... more
