This place was wonderful, a well run boutique hotel with traditional design. It's in some quiet side streets, and we got a bit lost walking back from the Night Market the first time. When in Chiang Mai we checked out a few of the other boutique hotels, but were glad we'd chosen the Manathai. The pool is nice, although small... more

This hotel is like an old thai village in the middle of a large city. Very Zen like, orchids everywhere, water features and small streams running all around. On a small side street, very quiet but close to everything. 5 min from the night market and the river and 10 min from the old town. Great pool not a lot... more

The Manathai Village in Chiang Mai is an excellent choice for spending some days in this very nice and relaxed city. The rooms are beautifully arranged and the location couldn't be better: only 5 mn from Night Market. The pool area is very nice also and the service was perfect. I would recommend this hotel at any time. more

We had booked in to stay at the Manathai's 'premier' suite, and arrived late in the evening, after a long day travelling, looking forward to relaxing and winding down. Arriving at the hotel, we were led to our room, which was certainly very impressive in terms of decor and atmospherics, but was also located directly above the bar, and shared... more

You know a hotel is special when your guests just don't want to leave... and after a 3-night stay at Manathai Village, that's exactly how we feel! This place is a diamond in the rough; as you drive towards it through a narrow, modest soi (alleyway) you may have your doubts, but the hotel that awaits is a true oasis.... more

We loved staying here. We would spend the most peaceful afternoons or evenings sitting on the front porch attached to our room, which was at the poolside. It was quiet and beautiful, with flowers and other landscaping setting the scene for a tropical, Thai feel. They served small appetizers around happy-hour time. The staff was kind and courteous, and the... more

We spent 2 nights at the Manathai in December and we could have spent a week there without ever leaving the property! It's so tranquil and beautiful...incredibly relaxing. The rooms are small but lovely, they have a very zen feeling. The pool was a good size with nice sunbeds along the one side so you could get some sun, if... more

We spent 4 nights at Manathai in Chiang Mai. The hotel and the stuff are lovely. Manathai is well situatetd (10min by foot to the night market). The rooms are very small (doubleroom) and there isn't a wardrobe or something where you can put in your clothes. In Manathai is a small, but very nice pool. There are 6 sunbeds... more

We stayed at the Manathai because our first choice in CM, Tamarind Village, was full. We were there for 2 nights before and 2 nights after a week-long drive that we took around northern Thailand. At first, we were put off by the small size of the rooms. But then we realized that the public areas of the hotel were... more
