The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Its advertising is false and they dont offer the facilities that they say. When we asked about the non-exisitent heating (its very cold in Hanoi at the moment) they became very defensive and from then on were less friendly. This is the same hotel as Funky Monkey Cafe Hotel, Z queens....and many more names!The staff is kids...The hotelstaff is trying to cheat you with booking trips and other tickets(train). They overcharged us double prize for an trainticket. We didnt believe him, so we went up to the trainstation and booked our own tickets. And be sure...we told him, and... more

The short of it: We were ripped off by Oh Darling guesthouse (aka Funky Monkey Hostel). They overcharged us for our plane tickets and would not admit what they had done. I recently stayed at the old darling cafe hotel, which also apparently has many other names such as A to Z queen hotel. though the room was OK, they try to take advantage of new comers to Vietnam and on the morning after they arrive they will try to aggressively sell you tours but for 50 to 100% more than... more

Becareful of thei tours.! My friend and I booked a tour within the hotel through the 'very friendly and helpful' Manager Michael, only to find ourselves ripped off by an large amount of US dollars. When we tried to confront staff about this no one could help and was impossible to contact him !? Co-incidentally the owner of the hotel... more

Realy friendly staff. Nice and clean room with working ac. Trust them when they recommend trips for you. Easy and nice way to see eg. halong bay like we did. We stayed at Hanoi back packers hotel, owned by the same family as we understand. Lasse and Aasa from Visby Gotland Sweden more

We arrived in Hanoi doing very little research on what trips we should take and what sights to see,We seven nights but on arrival David advised us to take trips to Halong bay and Sapa. These trips were really exellent and really made the most of our short stay in Vietnam. more

Very comfortable Hotel with very friendly good English speaking staff. Very easy to sort out further trips adn transport to other place. An ideal place if you are a first time traveler or if you have just flown into Vietnam. Very good. more
